I feel really confident even if we lose, and don't mind Kershaw on the mound for GM 5. Don't mind starting the NLCS with Greinke.

I am worried about Nolasco, hopefully he turns it around, the adrenaline of pitching in your hometown. Don't have much faith in the bullpen outside of Jansen and Wilson.

Withrow?

Withrow was probably the only regular reliever to have a solid September, however, he is inexperienced, which can be a good thing or he can also go full Teheran on us and just implode due to pressure.

True. I do feel more confident in him at home though

I wonder how many tickets Ricky got?

Im with ironMan, Jansen and Wilson.

Paco and the rest of the dudes have been :x

Frreals?

Ah im off at 1030 hope the game is still going so I dont catch traffic.

Not sure how I feel about this.........120+pitches. ..never pitched on 3 days rest in his career.then u go with zack for gm1 if u win....and zack gm 5 if u lose on 4 days rest. Then who starts gm 1?? Ryu? Nolasco?

Damn, don't like the move at all considering he threw 125 pitches and it's first time throwin on 3 days rest. But all they need is a decent 5 innings and then put it in the hands of the bullpen.
Sucks for Nolasco, was probably hyped to pitch in his hometown, clinching game.

The way I see it...

Pros: Can close it out tonight, if we advance he can pitch game 2 of the NLCS on normal rest instead of game 3, or even pitch game 1 if they decide to push it a bit.

Cons: First time going on three days rest and on top of that he threw 124 pitches, affect it will have on Nolasco's confidence, if it goes to game 5 and we advance then you need to consider sending Nolasco out for game 1 of the NLCS

Dont know why he even stayed in gm1 in that blowout.

Lets clinch tonight w ker$hgod.

this move is foolish on matinglys part   atlanta where the games never sell out isn't the old yankee stadium or a fenway park during game 7 of the world series like atmosphere. stick with what got you there, go with nolasco, get the win and have your rotation in order for the NLCS. if they take the L tonight, im fully confident with kershaw in game 5, not so much with greinke.

Interesting move by Don, I can understand why he did it. Gives us the best opportunity to win. I would have liked it if Don did stick to the rotation though.

There's a lot of things I would call it, "interesting" is not one of them. This move just shows that there was no foresight in leaving Kershaw in past the sixth inning with a comfortable lead. Can this team still win, without a doubt, and the questions will subside. Why? because it worked and you are now in the NLCS.

However, if this doesn't work, now you are pushing Greinke on short rest for a deciding game 5 or a dejected Nolasco.

Should've gone with Nolasco, would prefer losing game 4 and have a well rested Kershaw in game 5. No way we lose in that scenario, as mentioned, Turner Field isn't intimidating with their lack of fan support.

It might not be a sell out, but the fans are there and engaged. I'll save the Atlanta "sports fan" diatribe for another time, but it's more than what's on the surface

But, I agree with you starting Kershaw tonight is questionable, I'm a little bit more confident in the Braves chances despite not having Nolasco on the mound. Most of our guys do well against him too.

Wouldn't Greinke be on full rest for game 5? It's on Wednesday.

I also think Turner Field is getting kind of a bad rap. It might not have been sold out, but their fans were into the games.

I was a little disappointed with our fans at the start of the game yesterday (prior to Ryu giving up the two runs). It didn't really seem to be rocking by first pitch like other stadiums have been.

Ken Gurnick reported Kershaw cut back on his bullpen session in response to having thrown so many pitches in game 1. For whatever that's worth

Good move. End it tonight. Who wants to deal with a one-off game across the country? We'd be throwing ATL a bone starting Nolasco. Now they gotta DEAL WITH IT.

Greinke pitched Friday. Game 5 would be Wednesday so he'd have 4 days between starts. Kershaws pitching on 3 days rest.

I just don't get it though. If this was dodger stadium game 4 and if you lose and have to go to St. Louis to face wainwright for the deciding game 5 like pittsburghs situation then id go with Kershaw.

But the dodgers have been putting runs up on the braves. Games 1 and 3 were 1 sided. Those weren't games where they got lucky. Game 2 they could've won as well if a few plays go different. The dodgers have outplayed the braves for the most part this series. Stick with the course. Hopefully mattinglys decision pays off. Get some quick early runs and Kershaw pitches 6 innings and the bullpen finishes the job.

My main reason for going against this Kershaw start is that even if the Dodgers win, it ruins the pitching rotation.

I love this move matingly is in a tuff spot, if kersh didnt pitch and we loss everyone would say he should have started kersh. catch 22 imo
