Malik Henry update from r/cfb

Ok so, made a throw away for this one. I have no proof for you so take what I say as you see fit. I have the privilege of coaching college football, last year I worked at the JUCO Malik Henry played at (Independence). I am actually the guy that recruited him and got him to come play for us, my head coach really wanted this kid. I left right before the summer for another much better job so I will not be on Last Chance U Season 3. Malik arrived on campus in January of '17. His dad was a helicopter parent and for good reason, he knew his son and what he would do. To say Malik was a douche and overall cancer to the team is an understatement. From his FIRST night he was involved in a fighting incident and bunch of other altercations. It should be noted that the campus is literally filled with security cameras, you cant scratch your *** without a camera seeing it. Malik was always always in trouble. Never at curfew check, not even once. Always was in some sort of fight. And then of course on top of that, the reason he got kicked out of FSU, cocaine. He was super skinny, had all sorts of joint problem (dont know if they are related) but he couldnt participate in our workout program. He did his own special program on the side while we did ours. I dont know how he was getting the drugs but he was and it was a huge problem. Like I said I left towards the summer, have no idea how he was during the season. But the TLDR: He is a **** person and teammate who does lots of drugs.

LCU looks like it's going to be super entertaining this season

The game Clemson put Al Golden to rest was brutal couldn't do anything against them, they could have easily put up a 100

Really? I was the opposite. I was tailgating that morning with such joy because I knew we were going to get demolished and it would be the end of Al Golden.

I just wanted the score to be BAD and my dream came true. I obviously didn't cheer for Clemson, but each TD put on us was just one score closer to the Golden being fired.

Bold Strategy @ UF/Mullen taking Sanders' brother. Nothing to lose esp if hes not on scholarship

Lets see how it shakes out

Still don't think it's enough for them to land him in the end. That Bama bag will be heaaaavy.

Damn Malik. Sad story.

And he's going to be on Last Chance U? That should be entertaining. O/U how many games he lasts before leaving or getting kicked out? I'll set it at 6

I hope they for sure get Martell on the field, he's exciting to watch

I'm sure part of this is massaging the ego of a talented kid so he doesn't transfer, but I'm not really a fan of the whole package QB thing. As soon as the guy comes in the game it's obvious what the O is going to do and a lot of times it disrupts the rhythm of a offense.

Meyer had Leak and Tebow but Martell doesn't have the size to be a red zone and short yardage specialist like Tim was that season.

If they are that worried about the kid leaving, giving Burrow a firm handshake and letting Tate be the backup seems like the better option.

Darnold originally was used in the first 3 games in packages, the idea being that he can run the read option part of the offense more effectively than Max, but pretty quickly it became clear that he could run the rest of the offense better too. Maybe Tate gets to show that as well.

(Hilariously, as soon as Darnold won the starting the job, they completely took the read option out of the playbook except for maybe 10 more plays the rest of his time there.)

Yeah the package stuff is trash, the year when they put Braxton in it was literally the same play every time. Im not sure if he couldn’t physically throw the ball anymore but he definitely never did. I’m hoping they’ll put Tate at a different position if he does come in. I honestly didn’t think he’d ever see the field in an OSU uniform (most likely transfer)
