I posted this about Cousins the other day..... his opponents Fg% against him is 46.2 % and he's contesting 13.7 FGA per game to put that in perspective Deandre Jordan is at 46% while contesting 13.9 FGA per game.....

Now that's not to say he's a defensive monster, But he's FAR from a bad defender and is one of the strongest/athletic big men in the league... The only reason Boogie wouldn't work on the Cavs is because Lebron refuses to play in an offense that utilizes post players AT ALL. However if possible IT, Smith, Bron, K.Love, Cousins would absolutely make the W's sweat. Cousins could guard Draymond effectively.... Dray would be taking A Lot of abuse guarding him.

Not to mention slowing the game down seems to be the only chance aganst the warriors & i think he can help do that.

What those stats don't show is the amount of times teams get layups cause he walking back on defense or arguing with refs.

well there's no stats for that "perceived" laziness... the actual stats show that he contest as many shots per game as a yearly DPOY candidate & he's pretty effective at protecting the rim. Also when talking about "laziness" everyone constantly seems to leave out that he's consistently one of the league leaders in rebounds, a skill that requires effort more than anything.

Also for a guy who supposedly is out of shape, he's top 25 in minutes every season. So unless he has some EXTREMELY negligent coaches i'm gonna lean on the FACTS & not the perception people have.

Boogie absolutely complains about calls too much, so does CP3, So does Bron, So did Kobe, etc etc.... Superstars complain & sometimes give up baskets... however stats show that defensively he's well above average at protecting the rim. & he's more than capable of doing more if he no longer has to shoulder everything on the boards

Coming home might've been the biggest mistake Melo ever made.

Either that or signing a 5 year extension instead of a 3 year extension.

If he didn't take the 5 year extension he more than likely would have been the third Heatle instead of Bosh.

And with all that, the pelicans defense actually got worse after acquiring him.

We need to dig deeper on the shots contested numbers cause even DJ is notorious for half contesting to go get a rebound.

"I'm confrontational. I feed off of confrontation. It makes me go. Not everybody's like that.

adding a new player to your roster along with your best defender missing a few games during that time.... dropped their defensive ranking hmmmmmm you don't say :emoji_astonished:

I'm gonna go on past results. The man has never anchored a defense in the top half of the league before coming to the pelicans. When he got to the Pelicans they immediately dropped from 7 to 13.

If Boston goes on to win a chip, or even get to the finals, Danny needs to make sure he shouts out Mikhail Prokohorov

Haberstroh theorizes that IT actually hurt his hip back in December, but it was misdiagnosed as a groin strain. He quotes a renowned hip specialist who agrees with this theory, calling it "very likely". Haberstroh further speculates that this might have something to do with the dismissal of Celtics medical staff, though the Celtics specifically deny this.

That hip specialist on IT not getting surgery back in May:
That would have been the time to get it fixed. It was a gamble.

so now your penalizing him for not being able to anchor a top defensive team despite the team being overall garbage year in & year out, and switching coaches/schemes yearly... on top of him being the ONLY offensive weapon.

point blank, all the statistics show that he's a MUCH better defender than he's given credit for & isn't a "liability" at all, your acting like i said he's prime Mutumbo or something.
