Strong from Marc Gasol postgame: "I just want the ball, I don't care where, how, I just want it and to be able to make a decision with it."

Never heard Marc talk like this :lol

This should'e always been the deal.

I'm thinking 4th best honestly.

Warriors
Clippers
HTown
Spurs.

I have to put Rockets above them. they have the young personnel and the better pg. and their office has been insane. Plus a really good backu in EG and D-Mo is going back. Spurs just prolonging the inevitable. They aren't a threat to those top teams imo. Spurs bigs not gonna give you 40 a night or play any real d. Klaw has to do everything, every night.

Warriors would dog them to dust now. Clippers may clipper, but I suspect they'd win the series also.

Its hard for me to put a team that bad defensively 3rd best in the West. The year they went to the WCF, they had the 6th best defense in the league.

Seeding doesn't matter, but based on talent level I'm still going with

Warriors
Clippers
Spurs
Grizz
Rockets
Jazz
OKC
Blazers

I see seeding lining up like this (based on current situations):

Warriors
Clippers
Spurs
Rockets (will benefit from their offense getting better through the season
Jazz (they continue to thrive)
Grizzlies (few losses start to pile up until Conley is back)
OKC
Blazers

Just looking at over past seasons, you rarely see bottom-third defensive teams be successful. Most of them end up in the lottery.

Wizards are a sad bunch.

It's a great crowd for #Wizards-#Magic!

Am I reading this right? Wizards are expected to give Otto a Max contract??

Sure, he's improved every year and is a solid role player but Max?? $100+ mil? You really don't need to do much to get paid in this league.

Look at the contracts guys like Bazemore/Matthews/Crabbe/Hayward/Batum/Barnes/etc. got and tell me Otto ain't worth it.

He’s now averaging 14.7 points, 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep. The only other player that’s averaging at least 14 & 8 while shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep? That’s right, Kevin Durant.

Link

Yeah! Kent, Wes, and Crabbe all got around the $70 mil while Harrison Barnes (the cornerstone of the Mavs for now) got $90+ there is no way Otto is worth over that. Whichever franchise will offer $100+ to him will have a very limited ceiling. + the Wizards being lottery bound does not help his case at all whether it is his fault or not.

Otto is a better player than Harrison Barnes. Period.

You gotta understand...for the most part, the Wizards starters have been fantastic. Good enough to have this team WELL over .500. This conversation about Otto's worth wouldn't even be happening if the bench was better. Folks are debating Otto being a max contract player based solely off of the record of the Wizards. Also, he's probably the 2nd best player on the roster and does SO many things well for this team. This team has a limited ceiling due to the wreckless and moronic spending of the GM this past summer. This has ZERO to do with Otto as he's developed into a fantastic wing and becoming one of the best in the East. If the Wizards are truly that dumb and let him go, there will be no shortage of teams willing to spend the money on him to bolster their lineup.

Otto Porter's game has grown a lot.

15/8 almost every night. Can defend. Get out in transition. Hit the 3....

And one of the best off all cutters in the league.

That Wizards bench though....yikes

Knicks are getting washed thoroughly tonight if they play tonight like how they played in Miami :lol

I LOVE hearing that. I always felt he needed to more aggressive. He's extremely skilled & usually the biggest player on the court. Feed him. Doesn't even have to be on the block. Just get it to him anywhere.

John Wall scored 52 points against the mediocre Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The Wizards still lost.

Bradley Beal has played in 85 percent of the Wizards’ games, is averaging 21 points, and shooting hot percentages. Otto Porter has a real case for Most Improved Player, averaging 14-8 with almost two steals, while shooting absurdly hot percentages.

The Wizards are 7-13. They are nearly as close to the 76ers in the standings as they are to the No. 8 seed.

How?

We’ve come to understand that a team’s fate rests largely on its three best players. You need stars to win in this league, and the quality of your top three “stars” dictates an outsized share of your overall quality.

The Wizards have 3 good players. The rest of their team is a train wreck

A look inside the Verizon Center during the visiting team introductions:

Sad state of affairs...with little hope that this season is anything but lost. Another wasted year of Wall.

Free John Wall Street.

The Steph dribbling show is more of a draw than the wizards

I'm actually on board with this. He deserves much better.

The way this team is being run, makes it VERY hard to stay loyal as a fan.

Hope he signs with the Knicks. Would love to see what he could do with PorzinGod.

Mystics probably a better draw than the Wizards...I bet their actual attendance is similar.

The most depressing thing here is that they'll retain Otto who's getting the max at this rate.

So they'll be paying over $300 million for their core trio. Add in Mahinmi & Gortat and you're over $400 million over the course of all their deals.

Now you're completely capped out with no resources to significantly upgrade the bench.

Oubre HAS to improve. Mahinmi HAS to stay on the court.

In my lifetime the Wizards/Bullets have never been ****. Glad I never felt no loyaly to that team. How many times have they even won 50 games?

I work in SE DC, I couldn't imagine the hassle of going to a game at Verizon at night during the work week. Couple the hassle and mediocre basketball, noooooope.
