Wisconsin has the #1 scoring defense, the #3 yards per game defense, and #11 DFEI. DFEI specifically takes into account the strength of an opponents offense. Common sense tells you the better the offenses they face the better their rating. By every measurable statistic they have an elite defense.
The irony is you keep saying I think team A + B yada yada but that is literally the argument you're making. Because you feel that big ten offenses are bad therefore a team with a saber metrically measured defense can not be as good as they objectively are.

You claim Kirby Smart is more qualified than Helton because I'm assuming you didn't know Kirby doesn't call the defenses at Bama and that Helton has been a HC in an interim role three times in his career.
