Here we go again..

What makes Bosh worth the same as Lebron?

Huh? :lol One is Lebron...One is...Bosh? Man I legit have no idea what you were trying to prove lol

John Wall just got maxed out for a half a season in which he hasn't even played 70 games, nor came close to a playoff appearance. Jennings, for all his faults, has been to the playoffs twice, albeit in the eastern conference. Statistically, Wall is better but not by a whole lot, and he's injury prone.

To which I ask, why is Wall valued higher than Jennings? (I'm a wall fan by the way)
..and I have no idea what you're trying to prove.

We're talking about contracts here, so are you saying that the Wizards should have offered Wall the same contract as Jennings? They should have offered him 3/24?

Washington will make the playoffs this year. Wall's supporting cast is the best he's had since entering the NBA.

Wait a minute, forget Oden signing with the Heat, Austin Daye just signed with the Raptors :eek :eek :eek

Nah my point was that obviously since one got 3/24 and the other one got maxed out for 88M's, the prevalent notion is that Wall is much better than Jennings, and I just want to know why is that so.

I kind of worded the question wrong. It's more along the lines of why it is such a big gap in perception between Wall and Jennings basically.

You guys need to understand Oden hasn't played basketball in YEARS. He's played 82 games in 6 years + a handful of embarrassing summer league games + some preseason games. He cannot cruise or rest until the playoffs then come in and expect to make any contribution. He needs to get his timing back and his confidence back. He can't afford to "cruise" til the playoffs, he needs experience ASAP. If he's glued to the bench, he's not going to do anything in the playoffs except be a goofy foul machine - which he was when he was playing really well.
You have a good reason to believe that.

If anybody knows how to slowly work a player back, it's Miami.. See Birdman. If I recall, Riley was working him out for 2 weeks, prior to even signing him.

He isn't going to be cruising in practice against those cats, he just won't be seeing much PT in games until blowouts.

I've seen him a couple of times, whether on the court or in the gym earlier this year and there is a good reason why his workouts went well for the the teams interested in him. Greg used to be somewhat of a recluse prior to getting drafted and certainly afterwards. He'll be ready to go if called upon, which won't be much.

Until then, keep up his nutrition and up the workout regiment :smokin

Well, to respond to the part of your question that makes sense..

The gap in perception is due to Wall being one of the highest-rated talents in recent times. His ceiling is expected to be much higher than Jennings.

Wall getting 80m's doesn't mean the prevalent notion is that Wall is much better than Jennings.

It means that the Washington Wizards (who gave Wall his contract, not the public) see John Wall as an invaluable asset to their franchise's future.

It wasn't like the Wizards were like "Okay well Jennings got 3/24, therefore we'll give John about ehh... 80mil" they weren't thinking about Jennings bro. They were thinking about the fact that they couldn't afford to lose Wall at this point.

How much better Wall is than Jennings RIGHT NOW isn't relevant, what's relevant is the fact that a prospect like John Wall at 22 years of age is an invaluable asset to a struggling franchise and Jennings is not.

See that's the thing, why is Wall viewed as an invaluable asset to a franchise and Jennings isn't? What has Wall done to warrant being an invaluable asset?

I agree that the Wiz weren't thinking about Jennings, I don't think they were either :lol and yeah his ceiling is expected to be higher, but he hasn't done much of anything that suggest he will eventually reach that ceiling. A Half of a season?

Detroit Pistons' Will Bynum SCORES 50 & UConn PG Ryan Boatright SHOWS OUT at Chi League Pro Am!! - Y…

John Wall is more athletic, explosive. Better defender, rebounder, and passer.

Brandon Jennings' only advantage on Wall is his jump shot.

probably gonna have to give the jumpshot nod to Wall because in the games we seen from him last season, his jumper was pretty wet.

bet it improves even more this summer

Kind of want to bring up a conversation we had during the season. Today I had someone else tell me that they dont think Vince Carter is going to the HoF. I couldnt believe it. How many people are really doubting this?

Because when he's on the floor he's been more valuable. Jennings has shown NO improvement. Wall has done nothing but improve. His contract wasn't based on half of a season....it's based on 1 everything he's done when on the floor(which is a lot contrary to what you've been spewing) and 2 his potential. He's better at EVERYTHING than Jennings besides a jumper which doesn't matter because Jennings chucks so much it negates that fact. He's also younger. When healthy Wall has played at a top 10(pg wise) level in a pg heavy league. Jennings has never in his career reached that level. Ever. Does that sufficiently answer this ridiculous question?

Bout to play some devil's advocate right now...

Why is John Wall worth so much more than Brandon Jennings right now?
One makes his teammates better and can elevate the team as a whole. The other can't and also plays a style that really isn't conducive to running a team nor winning meaningful games.

As I have said before though, Detroit's lineup is intriguing.

See birdman? Birdman played the year before. But na, it's identical.

Point was that the staff knows how to work a player back in because Birdman was not tossed into the fire quickly. He was worked back in according to the plan they had set and they stuck with it, despite needing the help. Miller and Lewis both often injured were serviceable last season and remained healthy the entire year. Same for Ray Allen.

Clearly, it isn't the same situation. Riley is known for his conditioning requirements, but he has shown patience. As much time as the players spend with the medical staff, you can see that they do a rather good job throughout the season.

Getting Wade on the court during the playoffs was big alone. Again, Greg is in better shape than most know and has the luxury of working into the Heat's rotation at his speed, rather than forced as he was in Portland.
