I thought after Nate's playoff performance he would get paid especially for a struggling team looking to put people in the seats but i take it his size and past is still an issue...

yeah it's an injustice that nathaniel is getting peanuts when there's lots more players with a lot less talent and heart getting multiple year contracts

he's been typecast as some loose cannon or reckless player when in reality he's very much in control of his game and does a lot for whatever team he's on

these dudes making the decisions are a bunch of aholes

Then when they realize that there is no hope for him and the development of his post game, they will move away from it and do PnR for the majority of his touches, and lets not act like that regardless of how much he improves in the post (if he does at all) that he will always be a far superior PnR player. Theyre going to go to that when they need a basket from him 9 out of 10 times. Its PnR for him whether he wants it or not.
but there is a difference of telling a guy one thing basically lying to get him to sign.... then when he gets there don't even attempt to work with him and allow him to atleast try to improve...all in a clever rouse to get kobe another ring..and the lakers maybe another chip before they hit rock bottom.

Now if Houston works with him, allow him to try and they work with him to and he doesn't then that's on him...and no fault can even be placed on Houston.

But atleast work with the guy, help him and allow him to attempt to get better. If he tries and fails it one thing... That's not the same as not even given a guy a chance and not even working/helping him.

I don't know why people still think Dwight can turn into a beast in the post. He's 27 going on 28, and he has been to the Olajuwon camp already, not to mention getting coached by Ewing and Kareem.

Also, even though McHale was a great post player, his system is very point guard-driven (or guard driven cuz I guess he hates/distrusts Jeremy Lin). So unless McHale is willing to change his system, I can see problems brewing. Rockets should just get SVG to coach the team if they really want Dwight to be the cornerstone of the franchise.

is anyone giving Stephen Jackson any looks... yea he is older but is proven and can be solid on a playoff contender team...and probably can be had a reasonable price.

:(

I understand the reasoning behind it, but god damn this sucks. Mike Miller always came through when it mattered. Nothing but love for him

He's earned that rep though. He's a sporadic player.

If I'm a contender, maybe I take a flyer on him for like 1 year at higher than market value.

But i don't think anyone wants to give him a multiple year deal at like 5 million per. People hypin him too much off a playoff run he had.

Closeout game of last years finals was his magnum opus.

Hitting 3's with a broken back, salute the god.

That game 5 last year will forever be one of my top 5 sports moments ever. Ice in his veins :x

Even if Dwight is able to establish a solid post game, it's gonna limit what James Harden and Chandler Parsons (who is also a solid PnR player) can do. So they may try to do the whole "feature Dwight Howard" thing, but in the end it's gonna work out that way ^^^^

The Lakers obviously wanted and preferred to play a PnR style that Dwight didn't, but it wasn't some complicated issue about choosing Kobe first or D'Antoni or anything. All that stuff comes from Dwight's head as to why they didn't roll with Dwight as THE guy because in his mind, he can be Shaq-like down there so there must be a dramatic reason why they didn't dump the ball down to me 30 times a game. The bottom line is that Dwight doesn't have enough low-post skill to be THE guy.

McHale and Hakeem will be actually teaching him... but that's because they're actually parts of the Houston Rockets program. He won't get to say one thing, but never contact them.

I got him, Hakeem, and Kareem. Duncan and McHale can be argued though
yea a 3a or 3b on any given night, although I think Duncan had a little more finesse to his game and McHale was more of a power post player...But having 2 outta 3 top interior players teaching cant hurt.

I'm not really understanding you D.Rose doubters/non-believers. So since he's never gotten past Lebron/Miami he's nothing special? I guess Paul George, Melo and Durant ain't nothing special either huh. get the hell outta here man.

The kid is still only 24, missed the last 2 playoffs and has STILL been farther than CP3 has ever been. fall back haters
No its not cause he hasn't got past miami. It's cause he's only been past the first round once.

Wonder if James Ennis makes the team and plays any meaningful minutes post all star break.

Y'all putting McHale over Ewing?

I don't know if that's true. McHale's post game was a lot about finesse. Since he wasn't very athletic, he relied a lot on various moves to get him free. Drop steps, up-and-unders, jump hooks, etc. McHale had all of that stuff. He rarely just overpowered people for baskets (as far as I remember), like, say, Karl Malone or Barkley would.

How can that be....dude didn't just fly to la and show up at the staples center and just said hey guys sign me. Obviously la reached out to him....and they flew him out and he met with ownership...kobe/kareem hell probably even magic...and in doing so he stated what he wanted and what he expected....and they also told him what they were willing to do for him

The way yall are basically acting like this didn't happen, I guess in a attempt to absolve the lakers any responsibility is funny.

So either they told him yea we will work with you, kareem will help out and youll be able to try out your post game etc...and they lied.

Or the answer which makes absolutely no since, and defies all logic is they didn't say this, they said your strictly gonna play PnR, we will not help you develop a post game, you will not in any fashion be able to use or try to attempt to do so in the game...the hell with your demands, And despite all that Dwight said cool and signed anyways.

So base on common sense and logic, they told him one thing...did another, he got mad and decided to leave. No way they told all him this upfront, was completely honest, and he decided to sign anyways.

That's not to say he isn't limited in the post, or absolve him of his deficiencies, but end of the day they didn't even attempt to work with him, or try to help him improve at all. So to knock a guy based on not even given a chance/opportunity to improve and learn is unfair to him.
