In the supplemental round, three LHPs out of four picks. First Brothers to Colorado, then Aaron Miller out of Baylor at No. 36 goes to the Dodgers. Then the Blue Jays take a Canadian in British Columbia native James Paxton, who played at Kentucky.

The White Sox take offensive-minded catcher Josh Phegley out of Indiana.

Quick thoughts on all three: Miller could be a coup if he becomes more consistent as a pitcher once he gives up hitting. Paxton was very high on some boards but didn't perform and has a history of nagging injuries; at times he has premium stuff with a mid-90s fastball and power breaking ball. Phegley has hit throughout his college career but isn't known for defense and may have to move off catcher.

23. Chicago White Sox, Garrett Gould, RHP Maize HS (Kansas)- The White Sox have a history of taking Gridirion stars, and Gould was one for his high school last season. Gould, who went to the same high school as Tigers pitcher Nate Robertson, had 95 strikeouts in 57 innings this season. Gould also has a solid curve; one of the best of the prep starters in the draft.

Maize senior pitcher Garrett Gould, a possible first-round draft pick in the June draft, has been named Gatorade's Player of the Year for Kansas. (Read more about him here in today's story.)

Gould, who has signed with Wichita State, is the second player of the year from Maize. Brent Milleville, a catcher, was named the player of the year in 2004 and 2005.

Gould, 6-foot-4, is 6-1 with a 0.88 ERA. His only loss was 1-0 to rival Goddard. He has struck out 95 batters in 45 innings and can throw consistently in the low 90s.

This is a great pick for Gatorade. Really, I believe, a no-brainer. I questioned the Gatorade selection of Taber Spani for the girls player of the year because Spani is homeschooled and lives in Missouri.

But Gould is a good pick.
