I've been very critical of Arsenal for not having enough depth but there's nothing you can do when you're missing your 2 best defenders, 2 best midfielders and 2 best forwards.
Oh well...I didnt expect us to win anything at all this season but there are absolutely no excuses next season. Wenger's 5-year-plan has come and gone without desired results. It's time to switch things up.

2. RVP, thank god he's back. 20 minutes of him was better than anything else on the pitch.
3. The turning point was Vermaelen's injury. Silvestre makes Sol Campbell look like the greatest center back in the world.
4. There wasn't much Almunia was going to do with that first goal, can't fault him for the second either, that was on Silvestre/Sagna.
5. Good luck qualifying for Europe, you still have to play Chelsea, United and City.

#3 WHAT? you don't think Danny Rose's goal was the turning point? RVP coming on was more of a turning point than Vermaelen's injury. C'mon now.
Every gooner fan has excuses. Of course the gooners were missing some key players. Sometimes, that happens. Look at how many games Torres has missed for liverpool. Whatever. Spurs could only beat the 11 guys in front of them yesterday... and that's what happened.
Like it or not, spurs are really the only team that can change the title race right now. They've already virtually eliminated the gooners.
COYS!
Rose's goal was magnificent, but it was a miracle. Arsenal still were controlling play and Silvestre directly contributed to the second. After Van Persie came on, Spurs made Arsenal look like Barcelona. Gomes made 3 or 4 great saves to keep them at bay, especially on RVP's free kick and chest and volley.Originally Posted by DC1323

Like it was hard to do with half of our starters out...full strength vs full strength wouldn't even be a contest. Song alone would have made it a completely different game. Spuds are going to end up in Europa, City will get the final CL spot, there's always next year Spuds.
There, fixed that for you.Originally Posted by nesto0o0o

I could say had Lennon been playing Spurs would have won by more! (and showed that poor excuse of a winger TW how to play proper)
Fact is Spurs were the better side with both teams not at full strength Gomes was the better keeper.

Yes, you won yesterday, good game. There's little reason to brag about getting 3 pts against your rivals when it may ultimately prove to be a meaningless match.
Some Premiership fans crack me up...teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool etc are focused on winning domestic and other cup titles. Meanwhile, you have fans of teams like Spurs and Everton who have nothing else to look forward to but occasionally beating their heated rivals.
Despite their recent drought, Arsenal are a competitive team that are in the thick of things domestically and in Europe each season. What do Tottenham ever do besides waste money on mediocre players, finish 5-10 each season and do jack %!!% in the UEFA Cup when they occasionally make it? Tottenham will likely be a slightly above-average team for years to come that wont compete for anything other than Carling Cups. In fact, the year they won the Carling Cup, Arsenal fielded a bunch of TEENAGERS because the club was more focused on more important matches in the league and in the UCL. You won a competition that nobody cares about.
Actually, I wouldnt mind seeing Tottenham make the UCL next season and watch them struggle in the group stages. Too many fans under-estimate the quality of the UCL...the fact that a young team like Arsenal that has a modest payroll can make it to the UCL quarters every season is actually quite impressive. Over the last few years only Barca, Chelsea and Man Utd. have made the UCL QFs on a consistent basis...it's not bad company to be in.

You are correct, T=that is what matters. But if you think Spurs were the better team you are confused. For the rest of the first half after they scored I thought we were playing a relegation challenger. Then when RVP came in he was a class above everyone on that field, except Gomes.

@ spurs v arsenal arguments ..in the end they are always pointless.
..but i dont get how you can't admit spurs were the better side. even your own manager admitted this for once.
some fans act as if defending isn't part of a performance. Gomes barely had to do anything until the last 15 minutes
