So far its a 3-horse race with the expected parties at the top of the table. Arsenal can move into 3rd if they win their next 2 games.

Yeah, I just saw it... not exactly the screamer I was expecting... what football commentators like to refer to as a "cross-cum-shot"...

not like city dont have adequate cover for robinho with roque, tevez, adebayor and that welsh chav bellamy...even benjani.
laugh.gif
how you gonna call bellamy a chav when your hero wayne rooney is the biggest chav in the epl
smh because rooneys a scouse
eyes.gif

do you even know what a chav is bro? have you been to england seen one? because if you knew what chavs were you would know that one earns the unfortunate title of chav from more than rocking fake burberry, eating at mcdonalds everyday and driving a ford escort mk3. it all comes down to behavior. chavs are getting arrested all the time, have kids when they are like 14 and get asbos(anti social behavior order) and just all around act a fool in their personal lives. the biggest chavs in english football by definition are prob bellamy and joey barton. remember bellamy was arrested in 06 for assaulting a woman in a club. barton has been arrested a few times too. as far as i know rooneys biggest off field embaressment was being seen with a middle aged prostitute.

and rooney isn't my hero btw..i just like him but hes not even my fave footballer. him and giggs are my fave on united but all time my faves are zizou and cantona.
sure know a lot about chavs there, you might wanna cop a nylon track suit to complete your research.
english media calls rooney a chav all the time so chill out on defending your noble prince.
i will defend him because hes one of my fave players and quite simply there are alot of worse people in the epl. people on here trash him all the time but if i or any other man utd(or supporter of another club) criticise fabregas, eduardo, rvp, sagna, arshavin etc you guys get all mad as if its blasphemy. alot or arsenal fans on here have an our @*! dont stint attitude. and i dont need to cop a track suit to "complete my research" that sounds absurd. i only know what i know about chavs/scallies etc because im in the uk alot. my moms hometown which we visit alot(kettering, northants,uk) has a TON of chavs and although i dont interact with them i watch them get drunk and act a fool from my hotel window at night.
roll.gif

that said adabayors behavior imo was attrocious/disgraceful. dude ran the whole field t celibrate in front of the arsenal end..and although funny it was def od and unprofessional and caused trouble. i guess someone got pegged with something during the ruckus. and for stomping on rvp he should be banned for atleast 3 matches and fined. was just as bad as when rooney"stomped" on carvahalo in the 2006 wc. im not saying he should be banned because hes facing utd next week either.
Damn Kettering?! At the moment I live in Northampton.. Kettering is so horrible
laugh.gif
when was the last time you were here? The chav situation there is
sick.gif
can't wait to move back to London
last there Christmas 07. was there after Christmas actually. arrived the day of or after boxing day. been there many times before as well. actually went to north hampton as well that trip. played some pool at a bowling alley. stopped at the audi dealership to check out the r8 in the window with my cousin/friend rob. been to mk as well.
Oh cool, MK isn't too bad.. i prefer it to Northampton. What did you think of Northampton? It's a small world.

nh was cool. only saw a bit. the bowling alley/billiards was there i think. i know we drove by the football ground.

anyway good to see utd win and chelsea lose.

back on top of the Premiership table...

United are rolling, as long as we keep it up we should be good. Honestly at the start of the season I thought we might struggle but we're even playingbetter than we did at he beggining of last season

honestly, that kinda worries me a little...United normally starts slow and picks up their momentum somewhere after Christmas...
don't get me wrong,it's nice to be back at the top of the table but i don't wanna see them develop Liverpool's syndrome of last season wherethey started well but hit a bad patch towards the end of the season...

Wenger: I feel no pressure to sign players

Soccernet staff

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has again defended his reluctance to enter the transfer market, insisting his young squad already possesses enough quality to compete.

The Gunners revealed record profits on Monday, with their turnover of £313.3 million the largest ever recorded by a British football club.

Hill-Wood: Success more important than profits

But despite a potential transfer war chest of nearly £80 million available to Wenger, the Frenchman revealed he is perfectly happy with his current crop ofplayers.

"There is money to spend but at the moment I am very happy with the squad I have," Wenger said. "It's not because I'm againstspending money; I have nothing against spending money. It is not a personal thing, it is just that I have a squad that is strong enough to compete."

Wenger has developed a reputation for sticking with youth when other clubs may splash out on an established player, but the Arsenal boss, who on Thursdaywill become the Gunners' longest serving manager of all time, insisted he will only dip into the transfer market if it is absolutely necessary.

"I am very happy with the squad I have," Wenger said. "If in December we need to buy someone to add to the squad, I will do it."

The Arsenal boss was keen to point out that Andrei Arshavin and Thomas Vermaelen were brought in for larger transfer fees only because he felt they representedvalue for money, and said that bringing in big-name signings would only serve to swell the wage bill and unsettle existing players.

"I do not spend money because out of tomorrow's squad is [Samir] Nasri, [Theo] Walcott, [Nicklas] Bendtner. And people want me to buy strikers, butwhere do I put them? I don't know. I have to then lose players who, for me, are world class."

Sickening...the team has all the money in the world, are making record profits, yet are content with sitting in 6th place after going 5 yrs without atrophy

van Persie, Arshavin and Fabregas.

But I get your point.

Carlos Tevez: Arsenal doesn't have that transfer debt burden that other English clubs have. Man United couldn't sign anyone with ronaldo's moneybecause they were in debt. Arsenal will be debt free for a while so when the other clubs need to pay theirs back, arsenal wouldn't need to sell any playersto make that money.

I think you misread a post in here. I did not say they would need to sell players to make money. I said they have money but are unwilling to spendit.

Just a small correction on what you said...Arsenal are in debt just like most Premiership clubs. However, most teams in the EPL take on debt because they canafford to pay it off. Arsenal's debt stems from the Emirates Stadium and the club is paying that debt off slowly (it'll be around for a long time) butthe debt is not a problem because the stadium is a long-term investment. With the money they're making from tickets, the Champions League and otherinvestments, Arsenal's stadium debt is not an issue as it'll easily be paid off in the future.

Man Utd. didn't sign anyone with Ronaldo's money because Ferguson was happy with his squad. Man Utd. have tons of money to spend. Their debt has littleeffect on their transfer funds because they generate a higher annual revenue than the accumulated interest on their debt.

The business of soccer has changed drastically over the past 2 decades. You now have to spend a ton of money (on players, stadiums, marketing, etc.) to makemoney.
