yes.......Yes, they are.
We`re out of it.........
It is starting to look bad, we are about to be swept at home by the Brewers, the only salvation is the Cubs and Brewers play next. If we can manage towin our games, we can gain some ground again. I am not throwing in the towel until we are mathematically eliminated.

If, and this is a huge if, Carpenter and Mulder can both come back healthy (at least 85%) then they will sure up some of the rotation and bolster the bullpen a little bit. They trade deadline is still a week away and the Cardinals could improve themselves via the trademark as well.
Is losing 3 games to the Brewers a concern? Yes. Is it a reason to wet your panties? No.

Its not really giving up more than it is loosing hope, even though seeing how they werent supposed to be in it anyway, they are above my own expectations.
Like i said earlier, i will never totally give up, but why would they wait until a week or two to try and make a change that has been needed since izzy blew the first 3-5 games he did. Same thing with Franklin.
They know where the problem is and havent tried to fix it. HELL, THEY MAKE IT WORSE BY (quitely) TRYING TO PUT IZZY BACK IN THE CLOSING ROLE BEFORE EVEN PROVING HIMSELF. The downfall always begins somewhere. Why would our offense really try to go out and score 11 runs, when the bullpen cant even save a 5-7 run lead going into the 7th inning AGAINST THE WORST TEAM IN THE NL CENTRAL???????????(even though houston is in last place)
It really comes down to making due with what we have. The Owner & GM of this team are completely worthless. What's sad is they think the 2006 WorldSeries was enough for us Cardinals fans to be satisfied for many years to come. Face it, we have a douche bag who owns the team and his yes man running the dayto day operations. In my opinion this is by far Tony LaRussa's most impressive season as a manager. A lot of credit goes to our players who have beenplaying their heart out. Lets face it, we are running on "E" in the talent pool. Our only hope is for Wainwright, Mulder & Carp to make some sortof impact in their returns. The Brewers made the smartest move in acquiring C.C., he might be that last piece of the puzzle for them to take it all of theway.
