Not a ten year deal.. but when you're a ten year vet, your potential max increases to 35% of the total cap. It would still be a normal length deal.. not a baseball-esque ten year contract.

I love Westbrook, but even I wouldn't sign him for ten years

i think you misunderstood. when he cracks 10 years in the league, his max salary goes up. not that hes gonna sign for 10 years

i mean conley is the highest paid player in the history of the league and he's never made an all star team. and russ signing a max at 30 is no worse than when we signed amare or when the bulls signed rose. it just seems like a lot more money, but with the cap increase, its not as dramatic as it seems.

I can see OKC this upcoming season being like that magic team that was led by Penny after Shaq bounced to L.A.

Scrappy and exciting but obviously much lower seed in the conference. It will be interesting to see how OKC competes.
