I also think it's important that we get someone who is a defensivecaptain. Someone who will shout at dudes like Amare when they make amistake on defense.
this is why we should get rid of _'Antoni. I know alot of yall are gonna be against me on this but he really is not a good coach. He doesnt prezch defense or rebounding and he is an "offensive mastermind" who is probably the worst offensive play designer i have ever seen in my lets say 13 years of at least pretty intensely watching basketball. Forrreal homie is not even a good offensive coach, he just lets his teams run wild and that %#*$ worked well in Phoenix when they were undersized, had athletic players, grreat shooters, and Steve Nash but its not the case with this team. This system is not gonna work with Melo and even if it did you cannot go deep in the playoffs with coaching that bad.
when you say we need a "defensive captain" i could somewhat agree with that, but what we really need is a defensive minded coach. When you have your 2 franchise players who are fantastic in all aspects of the game but notoriously a liability on defense, why have a coach thatknows nothing about defense? Im telling you, and i know it will be scrutinized but i dont really give a %+@%, tthis team would be 10000x better with Mark Jackson as coach. He is young, would relate to the players which D'Antoni is not even doing right now, he is from NY and will bring instant energy, and will preach defense. These guys would be busting their !++ off for Mark Jackson and he would not tolerate defensive/rebounding efforts (2 offensive boards to lose to the Pstons) like we have been acustomed to lately. Yall gonna bring up experience and %#*$ but %+@% that, he could be a great coach, and he is never gonna be an assistant, because he already has a great job as a commentator so you can cross that off the list. However he is intelligent, one of the great NYC PGs and have been around the game his entire life and knows MSG bball. I will take his energy over D'Antoni's "experience" and however inexperienced a guy like Jackson is (even though hes been around bball his entire life) there is no possible way he could be worse at drawing up plays and running an effective offense than Mike _'Antoni, and the defense would improve ridiculously. If you want experience give him an experienced head assistant to help him out when he needs. This team will go nowhere with _'Antoni, %#*$ is pathetic, and i am not just saying this now. I have been skeptical of him since day 1 and truly do not believe he is a good basketball coach, especially for this team, especially for a NY team.
