Should I spend $799 shipped on sz 10 pair of Sail 5's from GOAT or wait till prices dip back?

I think you should go ahead and get them but at a lower price. I picked up a size 10 for 830 cad, 650 usd last week. I'd shop around, 799 is a bit much.

Where did you buy?
I know eBay does authentication but have more trust in GOAT. Maybe that’s why the price is inflated.

like @[B]206to813[/B] mentioned, they can just do it tastefully and market it as honoring Virgil if he actually planned something knowing he was on borrowed time unless his fam has different plans. People might have something to say but they will still eat it up. VB came out publicly time after time criticizing Nike..

trying to have a civil discussion about this. Personally I think even if Virgil had lined out a plan for his designs with Nike (and most likely LV and OW too), but I don't think Nike is going to move much forward other than the slight possibility of the blazer lows. Nike is going to get dragged for "milking" his name and brand if they continue releasing his shoes and design and still keep that limited/hype factor. Sure it was limited/hype business model before, but it'll mean differently if they keep that up after his passing.

removing the Kobe comparison and just assuming what Nike is going to do, I don't see how they won't get any backlash if they still release Virgil's designs in that same limited factor. Sure Nike can donate the proceeds to cancer or charity, but then they would still get called out for making the shoes in low quantities and not making more pair which in return means a higher amount of donation. Nike can do it tastefully but will they is a harder question here. I mean historically speaking, its Nike we're talking about here...

also, vanessa bryant thought that she could take kobes legacy elsewhere, cuz they didnt want to pay her for her GiGi clothing line and make and market that as well.

hopefully virgils wife isnt the kind who would end his nike legacy for her own personal reasons.

Just look at on foot pics of those shoes on guys vs girls. Virgil (the guy that is a fashion icon and in the title of this thread, a fashion genius) clearly picked that color palette for women. It’s very feminine. Duh. Different shades of beige are women’s colors. It’s a womens shoe!

People still sleeping on the black pair. I can’t figure it out.
These 2s might be my favorite ow J. The 1s look amazing when DS but the white pair and the uncs don’t really age well. The 5s are also great and really comfortable but they feel cheap.

The 2s are next level with the amount of detail that went into the midsole. They also have nice leather upper and both colors have exposed foam but in colors that won’t change noticeably over time. Also 2 low >>> high which is probably why Virgil chose it. Surprised to see so much hate for the lows.

Nope not yet, I was hoping to have them in time for my trip to Cali next week. Their site said that it takes about 5 days to process the order because it needs to ship to their fulfillment center and ship out to the customer
