Off-White x Air Jordan Thread - Rest In Peace Virgil Abloh

these are a fantastic shoe, but dont drop $1k on them. theres not enough shoe for the money lol
Great shoe, but I don't think any shoe is worth the resell money if we're being honest. There's always gonna be another shoe that people will want and might be able to scoop for retail. Although I have definitely paid my fair share of paying resell on stuff.

prices went up $70 on the black pair. Nike need to retro the 2 highs already

pretty sure online tax was before trump became president lol. But yeah when StockX and Goat initiated sales tax even tho they're not the ones actually selling the shoe, made me purchase resale a lot less. Blessing in disguise if you wanna call it that lol. And then when stockx started charging a processing fee for buyers, I definitely did not make any stockx purchases.

StockX gotta be really hurting with the stiff competition from eBay nowadays.

Maybe…. They might not even notice because eBay making its comeback basically coincided with the boom in sneaker reselling. So StockX sales just going ↗↗↗

I almost never do StockX anymore because of the fees…catch me on eBay (even though I dislike eBay too). It’s the lesser of the evils imo

Yeah that’s what I meant-eBay has far less fees for their authenticity guarantee sales. StockX is still a bit more usable but the fees are killer.

As profitable as StockX is, their UI is pretty trash. 0 spent on marketing besides those spam emails whenever a sneaker drops lol. Why cant they be like sneakerfreaker where they have a strong editorial section.

I pulled the trigger on Kickscrew on the Sail Off White 2s after Sole Seriouss cancelled my order. The only other Off White sneaker i would want is the Bred 4s if those ever end up dropping. I sold a lot of shoes I hadnt worn yet to even out the cost

Edit: Nevermind, see you paid that ticket.

Might do the same from the same site, instead of dealing with StockX/Goat waiting times.

That's a government issue lol.

Do miss the days of no tax if your purchase was out of state.
This right here. Man even stuff from Nike and Adidas didn't have tax where I live. Those were the good old days. Getting taxed on a thousand dollar purchase definitely helps curb paying resell.

I always wondered whether those bred 4's were ever going to drop. Main reason why I never went for the sail 4's when I struck out even though I saw a steal of a deal right after drop for 1k. I guess it would depend on if Nike was ever planning on releasing them in the first place, but I can totally see them still dropping ow stuff if it's already been produced even though Virgil passed (thinking of those ow blazer lows). Same thing happened after Kobes passing. Nike still released shoes up until the Nike contract expired

Nike supposedly did postpone those OW blazer lows "indefinitely" until Virgil's family decide if they wanna move forward with Virgil and Nike designs. If it does indeed happen, that relationship is only going to go for so long because Nike will definitely try to helm the ship on the final design and production numbers. And at that point, it'll just be Nike using Virgil's name as an advantage to sell their designs.

Personally, I don't think the shoes that were rumored to release will see the light of day, aka the bred 4's and the canary 1's. Those blazer lows were originally scheduled to drop this december so the production is already done and pairs were likely available for retail if the release date was not suspended. And like skaterplayer said, the Kobe situation was a good example of how greedy Nike was and how we'll likely see the same thing happen with Virgil's designs.
