idk why people keep thinking we can trade melo. hes a FA. the only way we get anything back is a sign and trade. in that case, hes gonna be asking for the max, since signing anywhere but the knicks will be less than what ny can offer. hes also not going to sign for the max anywhere because virtually nowhere desirable has enough cap room. hes gonna have to sign for less no matter where he goes, so a sign and trade isnt necessary.

they really dont. all it takes is for the salaries to match and its a valid trade, they dont take into consideration the team needs and how the players will fit on those new teams. hell, 2k has a better concept of how trades work.
