NT's LEGAL Gun Thread UPDATE...First Youtube Firearm Review Page 61

You are only allowed to have 10 round mags in CA

But you can still own the parts for a larger capacity, you just can't put it together.

yup that's true if you're in a cali that probably would be your best bet then...If I lived in cali I'd get rid of my G19 for G26...no point in having a bigger gun with none of the benefits

How does one prove (or disprove) the age of a mag -OR- when it was obtained in CA? Most mags I've seen don't have serial #'s, as far as I remember?

I'd guess if you already have them, you're good.

you just aren't allowed to purchase them at this point.

but I'm in Colorado.

I'm just wondering how it applies to someone driving to a neighboring state to buy some standard-capacity magazines, and then driving back to CA? I wouldn't be surprised if CA law bans you from bringing them, unaltered, into the state at this point, but if a person did, I'm just wondering how anyone would know the difference? I mean, it's not like there are agents on the border between states, checking your personal belongings inside your car... seems like another nonsensical gun control law that sounds better on paper than in reality.

I live far from CA and plan to never live there due to stupid laws and high cost of living. I have friends that live there, though. It's a nice place to visit.

The law in Cali states that you cannot buy them. (In Cali..) Now, if you happen to purchase them from another state and bring them in...;)
Just make sure there is no paper trail... Or so I've heard.

400
took them out to the range today

^ It depends on the magazine.

There are different generations of 9mm glock magazines; I think theyre on the 6th gen now. The first 2 generations were pre ban. There are some characteristics that make the magazines different. Link below has good info and pics.

I guess. I I don't live in California so I can't really say but say you got a regular mag at the range are they really going to do all that? Bare minimum I'm rolling with a full mag in my gun and having some 10 rounders on deck for when I have to act like I care about the law.

It's so different here. Once you get your ccw you're chilling. The only rule we have is basically you can't saw your shotgun off if you have a pistol grip pump or something stupid I'd never do anyways.

I hear you. I highly doubt leo's are hanging out at shooting ranges checking peoples magzines. To aid in the confusion, it's also legal to "rebuild" mags, to include the magazine body. I don't get that at all, but if it allows California residents a loophole round idiotic laws, then cool.

If I were a resident of CA, i'd probably only have 1911's, revolvers, and m1 garands.

On second thought, that doesn't sound so bad.....I'd basically be Mike Honcho

Used bore snakes for the first time instead of a rod. I must say its money well spent. Also used some ballistol and I love it.

Decided to keep both the npap and opap. Ak heads what are the best steel mags since both my aks came with pmags?

I just ordered my 1st AR.

Black Rain PG9

Got 300 rounds ready to go through it once it gets here.

Stupid UPS and their "Scheduled Delivery" days. It hit town last night, but my scheduled delivery day isn't until Monday....

I have a feeling its going to lead to me building one and that'll lead into another addiction lol

That's how I clean all my guns. :hat so quick and isn't so vile to breathe.

Yeah I think the Cali laws are only keeping honest people honest. Especially if you can rebuild your mags with new parts. :lol

Is there a huge difference between a 9 and a 40? I have a 9, but I always regretted not getting the 40.

Nope...the difference is marginal there's nothing I can do with my 40 that I can't do with my nine. It really comes down to what you shoot best. I have all three of the primary handgun calibers and come back to my nine every day that should let you know something. However if you must have a 40 let me suggest the m&p 40 since the gun was built on the .40 cal

Thanks Velle, I prefer the 9 because that's what we use at work, although I don't own that particular type, we use the Beretta at work.
