Prior to todays game The knicks were 4-10 at home, OKC was 9-4 on the road, combined with the fact OKC was 9-1 L10, Knicks were 5-5 L10

There is no way OKC had a 50% chance of winning vs the knicks I didn't check the computer prediction but it has to be around 85-90% OKC win.

The other thing that you are assuming is that the teams, and thus players, are equally talented, which is just not true

I think he was talking about in regards to covering the spread, not straight up.

That's correct, the outcome is always a win or loss.

ATS and SU are one of several factors to consider, but they are sometimes negligible. both MIA & OKC are poor ATS, but good SU. I was literally about to take MIA -6 or -7 earlier because I felt like -8 or -9 was too big a margin, especially on the road. Had I taken -6 I would have won ATS, however it would count as a loss ATS on MIA match up stats.
