Never smoked cigs, but I can understand. I hardly gambled all football season, but got back into with the quickness.

It used to be so casual...That's why I love(d) baseball. daily parlays, but small.

NBA is probably my fav sport to bet on besides college football

And baseball is def the best sport to do parlays IMO.

Most I ever bet on one game was 2k on the nets last season when they played the mavs

what kind of NBA bets do you make typically ? spread , pick em , stats ?

definitely want to get into that game ...

You'd do very well.

Probably doesn't help, but those that have a knack for seeing beyond the public typically do very well if they can manage their funds and be patient.

It's better to not get involed though than to be addicted. You think those Sam Adams' mean something now? Just imagine having a few hundo on the Eagles on MNF.

from everything ive heard/read -- patience is key . be smart obviously , but its better to get into it initially for the fun/excitement rather than strictly for making $$$ . otherwise you'll turn grey real quick

651: Off the top, I regret missing on Cardinals/Pirates G5, Stun Gun/Silva, Stanford/Oregon. Means nothing with nothing to show for my sports knowledge/intuition.

My general rule is not to trust the public. I've talked sports enough with strangers to learn this cold truth. "Ronaldinho still on Barca, not knowing Aaron Dobson, etc."

Serious question, do you think betting has heightened or lessened your passion and interest in sports?

Went In on Sd-3, and parlayed den-7 and lakers.

This had probably been the best week for me in terms of winnings. Lost quite a few in the beginning but ended up with a strong last couple of days. Profited out close to 2 stacks. As always

Tomorrow I'm going big on NE +3, a strong gut feeling unless I hear something that changes my mind.

Heightened and it's really sad for me to say that.

No more purity. I can still see it and value it, but from a bystander standpoint, it's changed. It's hard for me to imagine the days when I woke up in the morning and turned on games (that weren't my teams) just to watch for the sake of watching sports. Almost like an adult trying to be entertained by cartoons.

It's funny though...I still do that with golf and tennis(have never bet a penny on either). My passion always was with the big 3 (NFL, MLB, NBA), but when I really want to just enjoy it's rarely the NFL anymore. I've grown to start a disdain for it, to be honest. Just give me that Vikes SB and I'm gone. Also why baseball is and forever my #1. Betting or not...I can watch/listen to that all damn day.

interesting . may be a good idea to take a hard break every now and again . i didnt fill out a march madness bracket this year for the first time in forever and enjoyed just watching the tourney unfold this year much more than i have over the past 5

Sports is still the same to me from when I didn't bet until now but I'm more aware of the "entertainment" side of sports....which is more of a nba and NFL thing

I became a better gambler when I realized everything isn't just stats and that sometimes these games are played to the spread/total ....when I accepted the truth I became a better gambler overnight....some might say I'm talking out my *** but it is what it is....these situations have lined my pocket

It basically comes down to whether or not I fully believe in Cam at this point. While I'm a fan, I think Brady gets the better of the Panthers and Talib (hoping he plays) gets his hands on a Newton pass or two.
