Im in Edmonton can I join? lol....
Because of hockey? hockey sucks anyway lol... There will be a sneaker convention held in Vancouver in May, will you be attending?
Calgary nter checking in. Haven't been collecting for a while, but will be out trying to get a pair of 11 lows. Probably Chinook is where I'll head
Whats good all. I will be moving to Calgary in 3 months and was hoping for some info about the kick scene. I have been living over seas for a few years and looking forward to coming home. Guess I have a few questions for people in Calgary.
1) Where are retro and most new kicks released? Is there a specialty store or more then one store that does releases?
2) Is there a large demand for retro and new kicks on release dates?
3) Are most kicks released using line up and first come first serve? Tickets before the release dates? Or other means?
4) How hard is it to cop a new pair of 10s? Lets rate out of 10, with 10 being 1/1000 chance or worst.
Thanks for any help and I am sure I will meet a few of you guys waiting in line over the next few years.
All the best.
Anybody got lucky with last Saturday's release at FL/Champs Chinook?
Did you have it shipped to a US address at the border then drove down to pick it up? I was at Chinook by 6am and the 1st guy on the line was there at 2pm the day before. Dude's crazy!Got mine on NDC. Game is out of control here, have a full time job and a family which means camping at 8pm for a 8am release will never happen.

Wow. You guys would take 6 hours out your life to save a few bucks? Might as well cop off Eastbay and have em shipped to your door.
Hey what's up Calgary NT'ers,
I may be moving out there from Toronto if the job accepts me. Just wondering whats it like in terms of living expenses, gyms and basketball leagues for men? I hope to meet some of you guys when and If I move out there!
Thanks a bunch
Cost of living is pretty high here. Depends immensely on what you want/need.
All I pretty much do is play basketball, go to work and the gym. I dont really drink alcohol or smoke at all. My income is looking like 40+ a year if that helps. What you think?
To be honest im not to sure about the geography of Calgary however I dont mind living just outside the city centre or in it. Ive been looking at places over kijiji and such and rent seems to fall in between, 700-1200 depending on roomates and location i assume. Btw thanks to the Calgary NT fam for helping me out. I hope to meet some of you if I end up moving out west!Depends on where you want to live in the city and your expectations for your living quarters. Dowtown? Roomates? etc... 40+ is certainly doable in this city depending on lifestyle.
Been looking for a size 11 since it released and that's my ideal price too dammit.
Hey Amen, if you make it to Calgary feel free to shoot me a PM and I can provide you any advice that I can.
There's actually a lot of leagues and great places to play ball. One place you can always find a pick up game is by Barlow and Mcknight. It's called the Calgary Rotary Park. I've always found the competition to be decent there, but all around good guys.
YMCA is always a good spot for pick up games as well.
As for leagues, there are a few beer leagues and competitive ones as well. I believe Calgary Sports Club has a beer league and a competitive one as well.
As for living expenses, yea, I'll have to agree with everyone that real estate and rent is steep, but at least we don't have PST hahaha.
Sneaker game out here is getting pretty stupid... to the point where I don't bother trying to pick up anything at FL or Champs in the malls, rather just try to get them online or through a connect in the States. It just irks me when I see a line up at 8 PM on a Friday and than 6 AM the next morning, kijiji is flooded with re-sellers.
At the end of the day, re-sellers will always be there and they're part of the game. Nothing we can change about that (I've bought sneakers from re-sellers before too). It's just some of the postings I see on Kijiji piss the hell out of me. One guy wanted a pair of concord low's but ONLY wanted to pay less than retail and had to be delivered to him. Like really buddy? hahahah ok that's my daily rant for today.
Anyone want a pair of Size 10 DS Air Jordan XX8 Bamboo's for $300? I won two by accident on eBay and now have three pairs lol.
