Are they actually usable for Basketball, because of the leather? I think someone posted in the thread of a photo of pair that was soaked in sweat.

They weren’t soaking wet. Those were shadows. You could easily tell on the photos.

Nah it def looks more like sweat than shadows. Look at the back ankle, lighting ain't hitting both ankles to make the same shadows there. And the angles don't make much sense to make shadows from all those directions.

Some people definitely sweat a lot more than others though. So I doubt this happens to everybody.

My first reaction when I saw the pic on Getty & posted here was prob some liquid poured on the shoe. Cuz I do have Game worn pair with either Gatorade or water stain on the shoe.

If thats the case, not sure why she’s still playing in the pair, prob she didn’t know

It should be near impossible to sweat through multiple layers of fabric lining, raw materials, and the PU coat on top of the leather.

Also, "not actually useable for basketball just because it's made of leather"? The Kobe 1 Protro and Jordan 12/13 would like to have a word with you.

This is def not true. I've seen it myself where the materials soak up the sweat that couldn't be completely absorbed by the socks because the sock is already completely soaking wet from sweat

Yea some people don’t realize there are more Patrick Ewings out there. I was one of those sweaters myself when I used to play.

I tried to find a shoe review I saw before on YouTube but I couldn't find it, I think it was of the Book 1s, where the shoe looked exactly like that Kobe 4 shown above. When the guy took the shoe off he straight up poured out drips of sweat from the shoe

Now that’s horrible ventilation. The one shoe that I remember being like this but I swear was the most comfortable shoe ever to play in were the Ultraposites. God were those shoes ugly and scratched easily and were not breathable at all. But man were those shoes comfortable.

Last year I believe I saw a post on reddit where someone experienced the same in the Girl Dad colorway.
Some people really do sweat like that. Wear out interior linings and getting stains fast, double sock, have to routinely let their shoes dry. That's why some people gotta wear shoes in the house. No hate, because that's just being human. But that must be rough.
