The step in comfort on these is nice. That full zoom strobel feels good. The ankles are very nicely padded but having played in lows for years now I was already thinking when I fully laced them that I could do without this excess material. Def looking forward to the lows now, I think they are gonna be beasts.

My first Kobe protro since the Carpe Diem 4s. I was in with the Kobe line from jump and don’t dislike any of the models 2K4-11. I thoroughly enjoyed hooping in the 3s back in the day and these feel great IN HAND. I do however question the cushioning change because of my experience with the protro 1. Although they went to FLZ, it was a relatively thin unit compared to the hefty zoom that was featured in the OG, and wasn’t great for me on court. I do like the additional padding in the tongue and around the ankle, the OG never cut me but these should feel nicer around the ankle. These should also be more breathable with the updated mesh tongue.

Just use the 2nd to the last lace hole and it is not constricting in the ankles.

The only model I disliked for hooping was the Kobe 2s. They cut into my ankle lol.

I question the cushion "upgrade" too. It already had heel and forefoot zoom. Put the zoom strobel in the 8s and 9s LOL.

Never really had interest in the 3s back in the day or the recent halo releases but for some reason these really appeal to me. Not sure if I should just hold off for the lows though.

Maybe it’s just me, but the soles look thicker. I just wish the black pair came out first, but it is, what it is.. Is the zoom air really that responsive as far as step in comfort? I remember the black OG was comfy, but it wasn’t really responsive from what I remember in the zoom air. They were extremely light too.

My pair came creased out of the box. Nike only offered a return as no more pairs are in stock.
For me it's not the biggest issue as I'll be hooping in them but I know others wouldn't be too happy with this QC.
