i went up a half size, cause from what i remember my og pair fit kind of snug and i had to kind of force the straps a little to lock all the way down... hopefully i was right

You'll be fine, I tried on a 12, being an 11.5, and it fit fine, just a little room in the toe box as you would expect but still comfortable enough to chill/walk around in. I did however opt for the true size cause to me it felt better and 11.5 in everything fits me perfectly.
