With the recent release of the Jordan shadow 10 and the soon to be released Jordan 13 flint in spring 26......is JB retroing shoes too quick? I'm really not understanding why so quick. I can understand at least 10-15 yrs increments, but shoes as such that i just mentioned and countless others are seeing re-releases in like a 5 yr and under span. Besides left over materials possibly or pairs still sitting in warehouses somewhere.......is there a reason for why they are releasing some retros so quickly in a short time frame?

The only people who care how quickly retros are coming out are resellers and folks who worry about how much their shoes are worth or whether they have shoes that most people don’t.

Aside from that, who cares if the Bred 1s come out every year?

Do I care? Most definitely not! Because at the end of the day, I'm only buying what I want anyway. The question is more so being asked in regards to the creativity, fresh and newness mindset.

Time is moving faster .. not like literally but time is flying and life isn't as 'still' as it used to be. Add that to how much has released in short windows that something like a space jam release feels recent but it was almost 10 years ago.

The thing I’m missing on are the Jumpman logos on the back of heel tabs etc I did not get into sneakers until 06’ so I sort of don’t really relate to the Nike Air retros they are still dope and a wonderful experience to wear but yeah my first Jordan retro was back in 12’ for the Candy Cane XIV’s

As far as releases go I don’t mind sneakers rereleasing every so often I’m more about copping sneakers in the future and I want to be there to experience Jordan/ Nike brand still having releases in production like twenty or more years from now

I dont care how often they release as long as I get mine when I want them. The release patterns are screwed up in my opinion. We have seen two Shadow 10 releases since the 2015 Chicago. The previous Chicago release was 2011? You would think they would alternate them more. I will never get their strategy.

I agree the patterns are odd but I’ve always wished all the key models and colorways came back every five years. NT probably isn’t representative of the majority of buyers. We buy multiples like it’s normal behavior but most people aren’t buying four pairs of Concords every time they drop.

In fact, if I knew my favorites would be back every few years, I’d never or very rarely buy more than two pairs of anything.

People who grew up on a lot these shoes are in their 30’s and 40’s now, some are even in their 50’s. Someone who was in high school when the 12’s first dropped in 97 in in their early to mid 40’s now. people who were in high school for alot of retros in the mid to late 00’s are in their 30’s now.

Sneakers aren’t the priority they once for a lot of people in this age group as priorities change. Other stuff in life comes first etc. Within that, people lose interest quick if stuff is coming out once every 10 years or so and you have to jump through all types of hoops to get the stuff, it’s much easier to just move on and say forget it on a pair.

Younger heads don’t have the same connection to a lot of these shoes. Some will cop them, but they don’t hold the same weight to them since they didn’t experience this stuff firsthand and they’re more into new balances and whatever other stuff is hot these days.

Having this stuff come out often is keeping its core audience engaged to me.

Who the hell wears New Balance besides Boomers, is that really what the kids these days are wearing? When I grew up in the 90's every kid was wearing Nike basketball shoes, boy have times changed. LOL

This post reminded me … even though we teased you about it sometimes, what happened to your patented anniversary posts?
More importantly, what does someone have to do to repeat as NT’er of the year?!

Those are good questions not sure how to answer the second one but many would agree you’re one of the best on this board. Love you to death hope you have your best holidays ever.

I think doing the anniversaries every few years is appropriate. Every year would get stale and plus it’s a lot of work. But that being said I will do one today for you 😉

I’ve had the same look on my face seeing those things be front and center in shoe stores lol.
No offense but ya’ll sound so washed lol

Go to any college campus and , in terms of sneakers, the vast majority of kids are wearing NB these days.
