I don't talk about it enough, but it's not just the ankle collars, and toe boxes. The overall build of the shoe is tremendously different. In this pic, you can see how bad the skinny *** tabs affect the overall look, too.
It's a BIG change, that also affects the overall look. Like I said, the 1999 retros were cut lower in than the OG's, but it wasn't changed so much that it affected every other feature, that made them great. So much has changed from it's OG design now , that they look like fakes, in comparsion. Even in comparsion, to the the 1999 releases. Put the cement shade, and speckles from the 2016's onto the 1999's, and you'd have the PERFECT retro.

Got my pair in today and wanted everyones opinion on the quality of the leather on these. It definitely feels nice but wasn’t expecting the wrinkles.

They look better in this one, but that's not saying much. Each shoe is shaped differently. His right shoe is better. Anyways, the on-foot begins @ 8:19.

They look decent for the most part ,but between that funky toe box & the wrinkles. They should of thrown 1 of these in the box to give reason for the price point....

Just got my home to my pair and honestly im not very impressed. I may be traumatized from my '12s still. I had a fake pair of these bout the same time as the mars in '06 and something bout the toe box is similar.

You know what ... and it's hard to say this ... but taking this all in ... I'm probably not going to end up with a pair of these. I will try on SNKRS and others but the way things are going lately, there is a good chance I will not get them at retail. And no way I'm paying resale for this butchered retro. I want a pair just for history sake, since it was my first Air Jordan ever, back in 1989. But from what we've seen so far, these are meh at best. Thanks a lot, Nike and JB, for nothing.

This is why I hate that they use full grain leather on white Js these days. I know I’m in the minority but IMO Durabuck is so much better with the matte finish and no pre creasing or material inconsistencies. My buddy's shock drop 5's came that way too. Not sure if this is just a shock drop issue where they haven't had enough time to put them through a more strict QC check or what, but they seem to be hit or miss lately.

I was a little upset because I literally clicked on the link at 12:03, only to miss out. However after catching another L, I was like you know I have some car parts I need to buy anyways. Haven't bought a pair in at least 2 months.
