While it's easy to just point the finger at hodges tonight, Randy fichtner didn't give him much room to operate from start to finish. For a rookie QB it's gotta be irritating to be told 'just manage the game, don't throw anything deep, hit every underneath play mistake free' for 3 1/2 quarters to 'go out and throw deep and win'.

Steelers could've at least gotten 3 from the INT that put them deep in bills territory. But for some reason Fichtner decides to dial up that wildcat formation with plays that haven't worked against opponents since week 4 against the bengals. A score on that possession would've given them more flexibility down the stretch to just win the game on FG's.

Anyway, they have to play the jets next and still control their own destiny.
