I don't know why people can't bring up past SB teams if they are knowledgable about the team and their path to the championship. These fans are often more familiar than some 'fans' are with more recent titles

im all for knowing the history of the team you follow but if youre claiming championships for seasons that you did not witness or were not even alive for, foh (not you specifically just in general). i dont think you were born in the 70s so for example the steelers have 2 superbowls you can claim, cowboys have 3, niners have 5, broncos have 2 etc.

This makes no sense. Franchises exist outside of individuals, it's ridiculous to say that fans can't celebrate a team's history simply because they weren't alive to watch them. If that were the case then why celebrate tradition at all? Why not completely transform a team's image and identity every decade or so to bring in new fans? It would make records and titles meaningless if they couldn't be cherished for generations to come.

tell me about that 1st raiders championship, those crutial wins and losses throughout that season, where were you week 1, week 12, how was the weather outside, did you watch games solo or with friends and family, did you see that 3rd string wr make that catch to keep a drive alive?, how did a key injury influence that season? you either lived it or didnt. if you did then as a fan claim that championship. if you didnt live it how can as a fan claim that when you were not 'there'.

So I shouldn't like Jim Brown?

my point was in regards to claiming championships and not about liking a player from a different era.

No one is talking about pretending to have been there for the ride. It's about honoring your team's history and respecting what defines the team today.

But I can understand why you wouldn't want to do that. I don't think I'd want to experience the Broncos history before 1997 either.

but i have :{ |I . im all for knowing history and what molded teams through the years where we either were not born or too young to understand. what i have an issue is with fans claiming a superbowl as if they were 'there' at the time it happened. the raiders have 3 superbowls. celebrate the history. im with you. just dont bring up championshipships and act like you lived it (not you just in general). just my 2 cents.

@franc you being a broncos fan i understand that its hard for you to go back and read the history and watch highlights of the previous broncos super bowl appearances before sb xxxii an sb xxxiii

tough but you have to know some history of the team one follows. sig check. as a fan i claim 5 lakers championships. i dont claim any other one as a fan other than the ones i was 'there' for. i was 5 or so when the lakers battled the celtics but i didnt watch bball until about 95. i didnt watch magic play. i can revisit history to the 80s and even before the 80s. but to sit here and act like i was a part of those other titles is fooling no one.

If that's how detailed I have to remember it I can't even claim 40 or 43 then. I'll adjust my sig

i might of gone a little overboard to make my point but you know what i meant :lol

definitely not a ravens super bowl, it was the colts franchise that won that not the ravens franchise, ravens can claim anything the browns have won prior to moving to baltimore. (championships)

Minus play action passes, Foster, Daniels, and Dreessen got a lot of Andre's tds, especially when it came to the redzone. Thanks Schaub.

Once Houston got inside the 20.

It was either run with Foster.

Catch Daniels over the middle.

Throw a pick.

That's why Dres TDs haven't been high over the last 3 years.

In the same time span Dez, AJ Green, and Demaryius have more or equal to AJ's 9 TOTAL
td's in just 20+ yards receiving td's. CJ has one less.

And once again, [@=/u/37902/Deuce-King]@Deuce King[/@] is giving his version of a Rick Ross Breakfast Club interview continuing to not speak on the matter at hand. Regardless of the QB here, Andre would more than likely still be highly productive. And if he's not in a Texan uniform, I wouldn't have any doubts that he'd still be one of the best WRs in a different uniform.

......but he IS in a Texan uniform whether he currently likes it or not, therefore he needs to be judged and evaluated accordingly.  His numbers are going to continue to slide be it his fault or not, especially since he now has a QB in place that I doubt even you can name.

Dre's loyalty to that team and fanbase unfortunately cost him production numbers that just might have propelled his career to another level.  Now he finds himself wanting to leave a situation that he's bound to for quite some time.  He's stuck, like a turtle in a shell.

I swear it's like you have both bad vision and terrible reading comprehension. Do you not see that chart up there? Have you not seen him play? What sliding numbers are you referring to? You're just post just to post now, flustered like Nas dealing with child support payments.

That's a lot of td differential to try and explain being stolen, especially when ya'll say he's top 3.
Double especially when other players match his total td with just a part of theirs (it's also the same limitation not counting their less than 20 yrd
tds because AJ gets all his stolen).

And ya'll were debating it. That's how it works when you reply with a different viewpoint.

Calvin Johnson had 5 touchdowns in 2012.

He sucks

Not even the same situation. Calvin was/is in his prime. Nobody disputed that.
AJ isn't and you have people saying he's still a top 3 WR. The position that has the deepest talent pool and is constantly in flux.

But if you think AJ is ascending still and will bounce back with 2100+ yards and 20+ tds. More power to you.

Receiving yards are more indicative of a receivers skills than receiving touchdowns IMO.

That may be, but elite receivers do it all. First downs, tds, etc. Ya'll are really defending 9 tds in two years. top 3. That's wild man.

If Andre Johnson is still being great I don't give a damn how old he is, that's the point. To amass those numbers in that offense with those quarterbacks is impressive.

Who are you to say Calvin is in his prime but Andre isn't.

If he's still producing he's still producing and he is.

Calvin Johnson had 5 tds in 2012 on an offense that threw the ball more than any in NFL history. He sucks

Speaking of Andre Johnson , idk if any of u texans fans remember this play, but last year against sd on Monday night the refs called this a no catch right before halftime, my boy just brought this back up to me the other day and I couldn't figure this out, how was this a no catch?
