Waiting on a 2nd opinion from Dr. Jerry Jones

Despite a Willis Reed moment (without, you know, the victory) on Monday night against Washington, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo doesn’t have a green light to play on Sunday against the Cardinals.

And Romo may not get one.

One league source with knowledge of the situation currently believes Romo will miss time with the latest back injury. Dubbed a contusion in a spot different from the site of his late 2013 surgery, Romo nevertheless remains in doubt as the team awaits more information from doctors regarding his condition.

As noted by Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, coach Jason Garrett has been all over the place regarding Romo, from saying he anticipates Romo will play to calling that speculation.

The Cowboys will be inclined to keep the Cardinals in the dark for as long as possible regarding whether the 6-1 team will face Romo or Brandon Weeden. Arizona defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will address the impact of that uncertainty on his preparations during Wednesday’s PFT Live.

In all fairness without looking at the stats.

Teddy has played like crap and Bortles just started recently.

How are Carrs stats anyways?

This is Derek Carr's competition:

He's the best by default. Congratulations on being the biggest turd in the toilet bowl.

Half of his touchdowns came in one game against San Diego. He's averaging 6.09 yards per passing attempt, which puts him at 32nd overall. For a guy on such a ****** team, he's only been sacked 7 times. Huh, guess that o-line ain't so bad? Oh... they're not. The fourth ranked team in pass-blocking.

And please don't compare Derek Carr to Andrew Luck ever again. There's a much better comparison to be made.

Just another average rookie QB.

Marc Barron sucks.

Rams continue to collect blue-chip busts.
Barron's still better than McLeod and McDonald, as much as he hasn't progressed since Bama like we expected.

Wasn't ignoring your post from weeks ago. I was dead wrong about Tampa having the best starting safety pairing leading into the 2013 season. Barron and Goldson are too similar, and the latter has regressed since coming to the Bucs. His two best years were 2011 and 2012 in San Fran, which is long and far forgotten.

Fisher should play Barron aggressively, attacking near the LOS and secure a solid coverage FS in the Draft or through FA.

Yes, Barron is probably better than the two safeties the Rams have now.  He could be an alright SS near the line if he doesn't have to play in coverage.

Wanted him in Philly for the pick compensation required. He would pair well with Jenkins, who is somewhat of a ball hawk FS and has already paid dividends by creating opportunistic turnovers.

So is anyone going to admit that Bortles and Bridgewater have ******* sucked? You guys are talking about Carr and he's the only one that's looked worth a damn at times.

I'll speak for Teddy, he needs better pass pro and more time to throw the football.

:lol yeah just like I thought. Nobody will admit how terrible they've been. Even when they're kept on their feet they've been probably the two worst starting quarterbacks behind Geno/Vick.

Blake Bortles has thrown 12 picks in his first 5 games and 4 of those have been pick 6's. I don't know how that's even possible.

Learning curve is steep at QB. No doubt they are struggling, without any excuses. Trial by fire usually doesn't work in the first season for rookie quarterbacks.

I mean Carr plays on the Raiders; you put him on a half way decent team and he would look a lot better like the Texans, I still think he will be a good QB in this league

He has shown me more than Teddy and Blake so far but they all have good upside IMO

Give Teddy the 4th ranked pass blocking o-line of the Raiders and see what he does. He may have more 'weapons' than Carr, but he's been sacked more than twice as much.

No excuses for, nor do I care about, Blake Bortles. :lol

I mean they are rookie QBs.

Dudes expecting instant results :{

Not everyone is Andrew luck.

Or gets a stacked team like Russy / Kap.

Bro.

5 games - 12 interceptions and four pick 6's

You don't need a stacked team to not do that. Bortles actually has a bunch of nice young receiving options to throw to so that's not even an excuse.

ehhh Carr has the worst running game in the NFL at 69 yards a game

Teddy is rocking with the 11th at 121 per game

Too quick to judge, bro. 6 games is too small of a sample size, in Bortles' rookie year. If he plays like this next year in J-Ville with no signs of improvement, then circle the "bust" wagons.

allen robinson, allen hurns, and marqise lee are a bunch of nice, young receiving options? well, at least they're young.

Their running game consists of an overpaid white dude from Stanford and a guy who doesn't tie his shoes. :lol

Like JJ said, not everyone comes into the best situation.

Man this is hard for me to say coming from the raiders side but Carr has looked better than Bortles n Bridgewater :rolleyes

Have to agree that Carr is pretty much the top rookie QB by default right now given the other rookies poor performances and lack of opportunity.  His stats are meh but he's also playing on one of the worst teams in the league. He's also managed to give the worst team in the league an opportunity to win games vs New England, San Diego, Arizona, and Cleveland.

I thought a statistical comparison of Andrew Luck's first seven NFL games vs Carr's was worth looking at because honestly in terms of poise, maturity, and readiness as a rookie, that's who he reminds me of.

Carr's thrown more touchdowns but Luck was able to lead a team that put a few more points on the board and more importantly won games.  Luck was also surrounded by far more weapons and talent. Carr's surrounded by an inept OC, the leagues worst run game, and my man James Jones.

Carr's been more accurate, turned the ball over less, and has the higher QBR but he's also benefited from some painfully conservative play calling from the sidelines.

Obviously stats aren't everything, and I'm sure we can count on ST's finest to somehow conclude that I think Carr > Luck followed by rolling smileys, but I did think it was an interesting comparison.

What in the ****?

Other than both being white, right handed, and with last names with 4 letters, I can't think of a single thing that Luck and Carr have in common.

Ok, QB's in the AFC, and played football in college. Outside of those things, zip.

Might as well look up how Carr's stats stack up against Peyton Manning in 98. Or Fran Tarkenton. Joe Namath.....

Skins need the same defensive gameplan that they had against the Cowboys, vs. the Vikings this weekend.
