News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Madame Mask if they do a master's of evil story? Doubt Madame Mask will get any significant role tho.

Assuming she'd play a villain.

heard someone say matthew mcconaughey should be Adam Warlock and even since then i've been unable to imagine anyone else in the role

i really like Chastain as an actress.. Amy Adams has highkey been stealing all her roles :lol

Do Robert Downey Jr. and/or Marvel want us worried about Tony Stark’s fate in The Avengers: Age of Ultron?

Age of Ultron, by definition, must be bigger, badder, and probably darker than The Avengers — this is how superhero movies function, always. And what would be darker than the death of Iron Man, the icon who built Marvel Studios and anchored most of its biggest films since? The answer is that nothing would be darker. So maybe Marvel had a chat with RDJ and asked him, with an unknown level of specificity, to get some buzz going about the potential Death of Iron Man. Get the fanboys shaking in their boots a little. This also seems unlikely, because he’s Iron Man, and of course there are going to be more Iron Mans, and also because Downey is signed for a third Avengers installment, slated for 2018. Could he be Zombie Iron Man or Flashback Iron Man or Holo-Iron Man? Sure. But, again, most likely not?

Basically just an article looking into RDJ saying “There isn’t one in the pipe. No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man.“

Totally possible that they kill IM.

At this point it's foolish to think it's not RDJR that's made IM so popular in the first place. It's pretty much guaranteed whoever they put in the suit as the new Tony Stark to replace him is gonna be in a solo IM movie that does not do as well as the RDJR ones unless they put in other charasmatic stars and high profile superheroes to help.

He can't die in AoU anyways, he is still contracted til A3.

If I were to guess, RDJ is holding out for a $100m payday for IM4.

RDJ cool and everything but he is a part of the reason 3 sucked. Ain't no one want to see him carry the movie throwing Christmas ornaments. We want to see IM kick ***. Sure the movies will take a hit, but having IM is better then not having him at all.

RDJ isn't part of the problem in IM3, the writer and director was. At the end of the day, unless we hear he had some insane demands on where to take the story, he is still just an actor reading the lines provided for him. Despite IM3s problems, RDJ was still the best part of the film.

Honestly, between this and Guardians, it makes me not worry too much if anybody's replaced. I know people are still crying about Norton but just like with the Hulk, as long as there's an actual Man in Iron suit handling business, I won't lose sleep over it.

Reason it's easy to get over the Hulk is cuz there's been less Banner when he shows up. Banner is no longer a focus really.

It'd be the same thing if they killed IM the hero off.

I'd be happy if Marvel tried to pull off killing Cap in Cap3 and IM in A3.

Did see this today though:

Robert Downey, Jr. Claims No Plans For ‘Iron Man 4′

“There isn’t one in the pipe,” Downey told Variety. “No, there’s no plan for a fourth Iron Man.” “It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree.”

Chris Evans Won’t Be Hanging Up Shield With ‘Captain America 3′

“Not yet,” he said. “I have a few more [Marvel] movies I have to finish first, which I’m happy to do. I’m sure it’ll happen at some point. All good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character. I’m honored to be part of the Marvel Universe for now.”

I read a report a few days back that they might just let Evans direct his own Cap/Marvel film in the future to get the directing bug out of his system and he gets to stay as Cap.

My thoughts exactly. Now that they are guaranteed 650M+ a film their average per film revenue will be high with or without RDJ.

RDJ will be Tony Stark as long as Marvel films keep making money. All he has to do is be in a suit and tie deliver quick witted lines. Iron Man is al CG and he'll just do voice over work. Evans is also staying Cap as well. All they need to is lock in Hemsworth and they'll always have the big 3 around appearing in and out of films and just branch off avenger films with the lame Avengers like Black Knight, (the Dane Whitman version) Tigra, Wonder Man....the big 3 will only appear in big crossover movies that I believe Marvel will start doing once they establish more of the universe.....and potentially break Sony off some more money.........................................

CIVIL WAR PLEASE! :o

Yup iron man wont be recast as long as the avengers and the current marvel
Movie universe is going. They would have to completely reboot the whole universe if they were to recast iron man or captain america

:lol I doubt this actually happens.

From hearing him talk about directing. Evans isn't talking about something like a Marvel film and he's not gonna lose the directing bug by directing a superhero film.

I don't agree they have to reboot.

They can just kill them for a while and then bring them back due to a McGuffin like the Infinity gauntlet and the reality gem changed their appearance but everybody recognizes them anyway :lol

They could just throw him a few crumbs to direct some sort of indie flick to get it out of his system.

Maybe by paying I'm more or something but I doubt they'll straight up give him a producer with money to fund an indie flick unless whoever wants to do it and believes he'll be good.

I'm sure he's not short on sources and help though. Main thing is it comes down to time and priorities. If he feels he's good he might want to do more, especially if they're indie flick and that'll take away from time as Cap, specifically after his contract is up and if he renegotiates and in a situation like that I can see Marvel not wanting to risk it so they either try to lock him down for another long deal or they kill his cap off and bring in Bucky or Falcon.

Not exactly out of the question and there is a possibility: http://fandemoniumnetwork.com/2014/09/chris-evans-move-direct-marvel-movie.html

In a recent interview Evans was asked if he would ever consider directing a blockbuster Marvel movie. Although the actor didn’t reject the possibility, he also did’n’t give any hints that directing a Marvel film is something he’s considering at the moment.

“So me and Mark Kassen, the guy who I brought on this movie, we were just talking like ‘what’s next?’ I want to continue directing and he’s like, ‘What size movie do you want to direct?’ I don’t care. If I read the right script, if that script needs $5 million, if that script needs $50 million, I don’t care. If I read a project that’s beautiful, that I really want to make, whatever it needs, it needs.”

Evans also acknowledged that his time with Marvel opened up his directorial opportunities, claiming that Before We Go wouldn’t have gotten the green light if he hadn’t helped it along with his Marvel “notoriety” and starred in the film.

In an interview with Variety, Evans clarified his stance on whether or not he was looking to retire from acting after his Marvel contract is completed. He said that while he loves acting, he’s looking to expand creatively for the time being by taking a seat in the director’s chair.

Said Evans:

“I’m looking to pursue directing. In the immediate future, I’m only looking to fulfill my contract with Marvel. If I’m going to act, it will be either in Marvel or something that I’m directing. And somehow, it was twisted into it would either be Marvel or I’m directing, not that I would be directing something I would act in.”

I agree. I don't think a reboot will be needed, simply a re-casting and keep it moving, ala the old Batman's and what not (but much better, obviously. :lol )

I doubt Evans will ever say he found a truly beautiful script about a superhero movie :lol :{ unless he starts reading Alan Moore comics and wants to adapt one of those. If he does one it'll be for the money :lol

I mean we love these movies but there's a huge difference between what's being done here quality level for every aspect in making a movie (mainly story and acting) and in other genres of movies.

I get that but for him to actually be open for a big budget film says a lot. He isn't just looking or restricting himself to some indie or personal film he wants to make.

And truth be told, Cap2 was one very god script and acting isn't too shabby either. It isn't going to win any academy award but that is a top notch film I thought. Definitely up there for me when it comes to their genre and i think Evans would be happy working on something like that. As he explained, he isn't leaving acting just to purely direct so while he is serious about directing, I am not 100% sure he is taking just a purely indie route to win some awards.

I'm not saying he's restricting himself to indie or looking to win awards at all but just cuz he's open to big budget films doesn't mean he'll do a superhero film. Superhero films weren't always associated with big budget anyway. He can do sci-fi, fantasy, he can craft some animated joint if he wanted and of course there's always the action film. Plenty other stuff to pursue as a director.

That answer he gives is just him being practical. Any director would say budget doesn't matter (most of the time it's not even up to them to raise the money unless they also write the script). It's just dealing with the possible headache of multiple producers wanting a say.

Cap 2 really doesn't seem like the material Evans is trying to get in to. Like go off the movie he was in he was complaining about that got no press or real attention. He seems he'll be going for passion projects. Cap 2 was good but superhero movies haven't reached that level where they aren't anything more than a notch in a director's resume that shows they can make a blockbuster. Definitely entertaining and interesting but overall it aint no Scent of A Woman. Just look at the description for Before We Go, a romance flick. Not to mention he's knew to this, he may be the type of director that does 2 movies ever 2 years or something.

There's just a difference in these kind of movies and I think Evans is going for the other as a director. Furthermore, even though he says the fame from the Marvel movies has helped him as a director I'd think he doesn't want to be known as the superhero actor that became the superhero director. Just seems he wants to earn something here as a director and not just be given a Marvel movie (which it would be seen as).

Don't matter much to me either way since I've already criticized his complaints but I've seen the interviews where he's playing nice when he's promoting these movies or just talking about them and when he was talking about them apparently with no agenda and seeming a bit negative. His attitude gave this vibe he really didn't like how these superhero movies made it seem like he wasn't a "serious" actor or that was all he was. Now I don't think he's that good of an actor to be complaining but he may have a chance to be a much better director.
