New York Yankees Official Thread - RIP Former Manager Petey Rose

With Padres listening to all offers on anyone, wonder what it would take for the Yanks to pry away Tatis Jr

I’ll hold court that if they could get it done with a 3 year deal with a big AAV. You do it.

3rd year wouldn’t be too hard to get out of.

Do that + make the Tucker trade. Sure up the Pen. And then circle back to Gleyber because he’ll be cheaper than some of the other names floated for 3B/2B

The ask for Tucker seems to be high high high. Shaw is a top 25 guy. Absolutely can't sell the farm without an extension being done.

If they sign Walker or Alonso or trade for Bellinger.

I’m still offering Vladdy hundreds of millions of dollars next offseason.

I’m fine with Alonso also because they need to replicate offense. If Alonso is the only move it stinks. But if you can get an all around guy in LF. And work on the bench. Alonso can provide some protection lower in the order.

If they went Walker that’s fine. 3 year high AAV and a buyout on year 3.

But if you go Walker. You need a splash elsewhere at either 2B or 3B, LF or CF.
No Walker + Santander. That’s just bad.

As much as everybody hates Gleyber. If he’s under $10mil or at $10mil. I think they should stick with him at 2B and Jazz at 3B. Easier that than trying to make 3 trades.

Man, I don't think they bringing Gleyber back

They won’t. I just think it’s the short term and couple year medium term smart move. If they are investing big money at 1B for a couple years. And making a trade for an OFer. Then trying to fill 2B or 3B. It's a lot of moving parts.

I'm merely talking about managing assets to put together the best team.
Worst case scenario is they end up empty and DJ LeMahieu is their starting 2B. And god help me if I need to watch him play 111 games

Pete may be the best option from a baseball perspective at 1b but man he's such a huge dork that I'd rather go another route. He just makes me cringe.

I’d take a flyer on Walker. He’s not going to command a huge contract.

Liked the guy but he was always on the way out not being able to replicate his form

If this is the case… Schmidt, Jones, Lombard and some middle tier starters. And call it a day.

Was in Miami last weekend visiting celebrating my bday and ran into Nasty Nestor at Carousal club in Hallandale Beach. Glad we got to flick up with him one last time and we jokingly told him “secure Soto for us” he laughed and said “I’ll try” lol. Sadly here we are a week later and neither are on the squad :ohwell:

Real chill dude wish the best for him 💪🏼

If they offer Shaw, we can't match that unless we add Dominguez. Just pivot to Bellinger + Walker, I guess.

Saw a tweet and kind of makes a little sense. They must be pretty far in possible negotiations to trade away 2B/3B depth and not have someone else already in place. Someone may say DJ, but from what I've read, they are not viewing him as a starter.

Dang it.

So that changes the offseason out look a bit.

Concerned about a top end hitter.

Feel they are 2 big bats. And a Gleyber level guy away (please bring back Gleyber).
