don't think soIs the retina worth the extra money?
dWhy don't you guys put mac money toward dell's, hp's, asus, and the like?
You can't buy a 300 dollar windows Laptop and be surprised that it's crap.
...then spend 1500+ on a macbook pro and compare it to that 300 dollar laptop you just replaced.
Like I said before, business class Dell is what i'd go with. More bang for your buck vs going with a mac.
That may be my next laptop purchase, really like Lenovos nowKind of want a 15" lenovo thinkpad. those things are versatile and could run solidworks easily if I wanted to. Need lots of ram & processing power.
Financing laptops?
get a mac.
ive had one for 2 years now and it is great. easy to use. Especially if you have more apple devices. Im now deciding if i should cop an ipad or macbook. i just want it to web surf and something light so i wont have to carry my mac every where i go.
The problem is that it was an HP. I've seen some pretty impressive specs on some laptops, but the parts they use are notoriously shoddy. If someone is going to get a PC, I would recommend an Asus or Acer. I've had both over the past 5 years and have only had minimal issues with both and they can usually be fixed pretty easily by yourselfdWhy don't you guys put mac money toward dell's, hp's, asus, and the like?

There was a thread just like this back in 2010, and I asked this same question...Went with the premium HP Envy line back then. I7 processor, dual 320gb hard drive, 8 gigs of ram, 17.3" HD screen, aluminum body with a nice back-lit keyboard. **** still sounds promising today depending what you're looking for...
nope. Not again. I didn't even do much with my laptop before I started experiencing issues(I tried to baby it honestly to PREVENT issues & justify its high *** price). I'll never know if getting a MAC would've worked out back then, I might've wondered what getting a premier PC would've been like at that time & if the MAC was worth it, but I know 3 years later I'm still wondering if I should've picked a MAC so this time will be different.
A MAC may not be for everyone & I think it's pretty high priced. I hear much praise for them, which is more than I can say I've heard/experienced with my PC to this point in my life
Someone point me in the direction of a laptop for around 450-600, it's a gift, all I really need it to do is play starcraft 2 and surf the web
