Exactly. I was at an open house the other day for a brand new 2 bdrm 2 bath apt/condo for $900 in Jersey City. I wasn't totally feeling thearea though.

I was thinking about moving to central Jersey. I work in Monmouth Junction.

Sad part is I travel from the BX, so I'm spending about $100 a week in tolls alone.

No lie. It is what you make it though. Some people love it. Orlando has warm weather, lots of sunshine, and uhmmmmm.......that's about it.

Oh, there are lots of decent paying entry level jobs.

I just moved to Allentown PA from NYC maybe 3 months ago....THIS place has to be the worst place to live....notin but old people and bars and not even the goodones..you gotta drive everywhere..cant even go to the deli/supermarket to get some beer.

I love NYC but i doubt ima be going back atleast not living there....need something new and exciting with warm weather.

def know what ur sayin. Besides nyc the only other place I can see myself living is miami. Fly chicas, even better weather, not to far different than new york, cuz of how many new yorkers there are down there. Its like a new york city colony in good weather, but not as dirty and loud

I lived near to the west campus in '06 when I got my first apt.

you live in NY and work in NJ? you doin it backwards

the "rural" areas of NJ are pretty cheap and nice areas, theres a reason that Apt in JerseyCity was $900

what part of JC?...b/c most likely for that price..it's a crappy part of JC.
if you're looking at Central Jersey.... try to find something that's close to the NJ transit's NE corridor since you'll probably be going backand forth to the city often.

I really have no clue what I am going to do when I graduate college. I don't know how long I can go back home and live with my parents in the City...Jobmarket is so *@%*$# up. But on the real, I believe if you have enough grind, you can make it anywhere. If you want to live in NYC you will prolly have to makea couple sacrifices but it can be done. My first apartment def. won't be in Manhattan, I'll try to find a cheap spot in BK and worse comes to worseQueens...

The people in NY suck too. I lived in NY for 16 years, living in Florida now going on 5. The scenery is nice here, the people are chill, there is NOTHING to dothough. NY=fun, opportunities, and a bunch if ignorant snobs.

As much as I miss NYC, after 7 years in S.Fla, you couldn't pay me to move back.

My dream is to move to NYC. And [riverbear] I want a spot in wash heights b [/riverbear] if I do move there. It seems like a really thriving neighborhood.Lotta mom/pop owned businesses that won't be bought out by overpriced crap that caters to white gentrifying outatowners...

I'm from TX and want something more fast paced..But how are yall young freshboy/flyguys getting by if you moved out and don't have a degree ? what areyour expenses like most importantly ?

and are you smashing ??
