According to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, coach Jon Gruden has "effectively replaced" Reggie McKenzie as the Raiders' general manager.

It's been pretty clear to see when looking at the Raiders' offseason; the team has taken on far more risky players than McKenzie ever did in his time calling the shots, and Gruden is going all out in adding a ton of veterans. Per Freeman, Gruden has "quietly consolidated power to the point where he's effectively the head coach, general manager, CEO and just about everything else." No other coach outside of maybe Bill Belichick has this much say in an organization, and we're not sure what Gruden has done to earn it. If he wins in Oakland it won't matter, but things could get ugly in a hurry if the Raiders don't turn this around immediately. That 10-year, $100 million contract -- the largest in NFL coaching history -- may prove to be a colossal mistake.

Cool cool.

Seems like the media is steady trynna create a disconnect between Jon and Reggie. Maybe I'm optimistic but I don't see anything wrong with how things are going. Jon has final say because he's making the most money, but I bet Reggie is still filling the draft board with players he thinks Jon will like.

Our 2nd round pick screams McKenzie. He's took a lot of chances on boom or bust projects, this isn't just a Gruden thing. Reggie has taken plenty of guys with character issues before as well. Arden Key, Parker... these seem like moves McKenzie would love to make. I just don't think this draft class is some 100% Gruden while McKenzie sits in a corner not doing ****.

At least I hope it isn't. U can't win with an individual who is coaching and playing GM. For this team to reach its peak, they will need to work in conjunction

I’d rather keep Bowman. Maybe they’re trying to save some money for Mack though. Idk.

Looks like we got Derrick Johnson,
hes always been a solid MLB

Kushing is set up for a meeting

Even if we dnt get much production out of the vets
They still offer a decent balance with our young players

better than what weve had in a while

Vets on 1 year deals aren't bad if they're just camp bodies teaching the younger player on the squad.

Not sure how to feel if these players make the 53.

Derrick only one I would be fine if he made the roster the rest can kick rocks and enjoy Napa for a month.

Corey James waived
Didn't see that coming, thought he was one of our better LBs when healthy.
