I honestly hate this time of year man. The wait until Training Camp is simply unbearable. Worse than the wait till the draft.

Raiders’ stadium deal ‘is gurgling blood’
By Matier & Ross May 15, 2015 Updated: May 16, 2015 4:18pm

The deal to build the Raiders a new stadium in Oakland “is gurgling blood” — the only question being when it’s going to be declared dead, according to one Coliseum official close to the talks.

Three big problems stand in the way — the cost of the stadium, the cost of the land for the stadium and the future of the A’s.

The Raiders want free land, something elected officials in Oakland and Alameda County say they can’t deliver, according to our source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because talks are still under way.

As for the money for the stadium, “the Raiders and the NFL have about $500 million between them,” the source said.

That’s about half what the stadium is likely to cost. So barring the emergence of big-bucks investors, someone — i.e., the public — will have to come up with a cool $500 million.

“But the real poison pill is the Raiders’ insistence that the minute we start working on the new stadium, the old one comes down,” the source said.

Just where the Raiders would play in the meantime is unclear. But team owner Mark Davis has made it clear that by the time the Silver and Black are in their new home, he doesn’t want to be “playing in the middle of a construction zone,” our stadium official said — which would be the case if demolition of the old Coliseum isn’t all done.

Of course, knocking down the Coliseum means knocking down the A’s home. “And losing the A’s,” said our source, “would be suicide for all of us.”

Get ready, guys.

The only thing more tiring than these stadium updates is the "Oakland's officials need to get their **** together" rhetoric. I don't understand what people want from the city.

Like do people honestly expect the city to contribute in bearing the costs of the stadium? Forget the fact that when pro sport venues get public financing, it comes from the state 99.99% of the time, not the local city.  Forget the fact that it's something that will never again happen in this state by any significant scale. The  < 10% Levi's Stadium got was beyond a bargain and literally borderline crook work.

Is the city of Oakland is supposed to give away thousands of acreage for FREE in what's one of, if not the hottest municipality in the country for investment at the moment and the last four years (not that external factors haven't been an influence, but something Oakland's elected officials dating back to Jerry Brown absolutely do deserve some credit for) ???

Point me in the right direction, where has the city of Oakland been the problem throughout this process.

City should do no such thing. If the NFL/Raiders feel they have to leave to be provided a stadium then so be it. There are more important things Oakland can and should put their efforts behind.

Besides, the A's ownership has been ready to wait out the Raiders and build privately on the land. This will work.

aint even mad if the Raiders jam out...but if thats the case why spend so much money on the Alameda facility?

Cause it's not like LA and the Bay Area are cross country from each other. We need to have a solid facility for more than just a future stadium, but for the sake of remaining competitive in fielding a good team. You can be sure by 2019, when the lease is up, that a decision will have been long made about the Raider's future.

current rumor says a decision will be made by years end, with the team probably moving at the end of 2016 season...lets say by start of 2017 season the stadium is up? Yeah its not cross country, but will you really have the home team travel to a home game when they spend 5 days a week in alameda? why not allocate that money into a facility in SoCal if this bay area thing is only a temp at this point? thats a max of $40 mil for 4 years? lol

Anything we build in LA will be supplemented with a facility to cater to the team, no question in my mind about that. They're ready to spend over a billion dollars for a big time stadium, what's a few dozen million more to build a two floor training area? I think what they're redeveloping in Alameda is simply hedging bets against all future outcomes.

Can't believe they're gonna share a stadium. Moving I can live with..But sharing? With the damn Chargers?

If the chargers get that lightning strike every time they score a touchdown. Then I want a holographic Al Davis to pop out to say Just Win Baby after every first down and fireworks that spell out "TOUCHDOWN RAAAIIIDERS" when they score. IDGAF if its a day game. Shoot them up anyway.
