Miley Cyrus not so little anymore. (RIPPING A BONG) VIDEO

I never said she should be the guiding light, but you're kidding yourself if she doesn't influence kids. Adults are influenced by celebrities, why do you think they promote products, places, etc. How are kids supposed to be immune from that?

Are we arguing that kids shouldn't look up to celebrities? So should I never have had that Jordan poster on my wall? That Griffey poster on my wall?

Its a nice notion, but its not her job. I'm sure you'll be the dad with the 200 lb six year old claiming that McDonalds should do away with the Happy Meal. We could all use a little more accountability.

When you are being sold on your image guess what? Your image becomes your job.

For the bolded, that isn't even relevant to what we're discussing.

In terms of Hollywood drug usage shes barely scraping the surface in this vid.

So because others do worse it's OK?

If she is dumb enough to let someone film this, she deserves whatever heat she catches.

Still, it's a responsibility that is bestowed onto her whether she likes it or not. Even from a business perspective, it's not a good look. She could lose a lot of stuff just from idiotic things like that. And I don't think the whole bong rip is a bad thing, but to know you are getting videoed and allowing it to be there is another thing. People and more so celebs have to be smarter then that. They literally have agents that tell them not to do that.
By who? Who is giving her this responsibility? Who on God's earth is bestowing responsibilty for a generation of "tweens" to an 18 year old? Is it also my responsibility to be a role model to the "tweens" I ball with at my gym because they like the way I play? I could even see if we were talking about a fully grown adult here...but shes 18. Cmon man.

She did it by making herself a public figure, through her TV show, music and endorsements. When you do that, you're asking for the fame, attention and adulation. They want all that to stuff to push product but don't want the responsibility that comes with it.

It's why I don't envy celebrities. They make all the money but there is a reason why they do. The pressure is ridiculous, the lack of privacy and personal life, and you always have to watch your back.

Well, to be fair it was her dad who did it to her.  Same with most child stars, it's their parents who get them into it.

It's part of being a celeb. It's not so much the idea of someone giving you that responsibility. It's the responsibility of yourself to be appropriate to your audience that pretty much feeds you. This is Miley Cirus we're talking about and she knows who her fans are. If she doesn't care about her career, then she can do whatever she wants. If she wants to be successful, then don't record bong rips and have it out there in the public.

Even look at Michael Phelps when he had his photo that was out there smoking a bong. He being a young kid at the time doing whatever but that almost got him prosecuted and he lost sponsor.
