BRIAN SIEMAN'S PREGAME REPORT
A year ago the Heat stumbled to open up the year with a 13-19 record and it prompted Heat head coach Pat Riley to say that his team suffered from "Championship-itus". This year, with the confetti long gone and the champagne all dried up, Miami is still struggling, and come into STAPLES Center with one of the worst records in the NBA. Now, they did start the season with Dwyane Wade on the shelf, recovering from shoulder surgery, but even with him back in the line-up they have still lost 15 games. Many thought that Shaq would be able to carry the team in Wade's absence, but they soon found out what much of the league has known for a year, Shaq is nothing but a role player these days. He will still require a defenses' attention, but he can't press like he did five years ago for 48 min. With the slow start, tempers have flared in the Heat locker room with Riley. Shaq, Udonis Haslem, Ricky Davis, and Mark Blount have had some type of run in with "Riles" this year, and unless the team can come up with some wins, those incidents might become more frequent.

Despite Miami's record, this is still a tough game for the Clippers, who will try to for back to back wins for the first time in a month. Wade at 75% is better then most of the league, and while Shaq is well removed from his championship form, he is still tough to defend against.

Who To Watch: Shaq. He's a legend, icon, one of a kind, and perhaps the best personality in the league. His time left in the NBA is short, enjoy him while you can.

not a clippers fan, but i'm rooting for them today.

they're gonna have to feed the ball to kaman and contain the role players like haslem, davis and cook.

2000!

i really like the way we're playing so far. Dickau's actually running a nice offense when he's been out there.

MIA lookin' strong after half time, hopefully fatigue doesn't play much of a factor down the stretch as it looks like Riles is only runnin' 8 deeptoday.

Wade is looking solid! Maybe this stretch of 3 games in 4 days was good to get him back into shape... because he certainly looked terrible on national TVThursday against the Blazers.

i hope we hold onto this lead. one of our weakest points this year is finishing games
