Mass Shooting Thread: Waiting on the next one.

We had police presence in my high school and it wasn't because of no outside threat I tell you that much. :smh:

We had a lot of gang violence in our school. Anything inside the school was instantly stopped. Couple of cops on each floor. We also had 4000 students. Ofcourse the one time there was an outside threat (around 10 kids entered side door from a rival school and jumped a kid at basketball practice) no cops were to be found. Coaches and us (the players) couldn’t do anything because a couple flashed their guns too. No one was caught

It’s like they’re there when u don’t need them and not there when u do. Being a cop gotta be the worse job. No one likes u and you don’t even properly do your job.

it is paranoia but most, expecially in Texas it is only to look cool or threaten somebody. my son's friend in L.A. have experienced a home invasion about a month back. the dad confronted the would-be-thief or robber without further escalation and just reported it to the police. I can understand the sentiment of owning guns for safety but how much more or how heavy do you really need to protect yourself? some people think that they are going to war that they need to carry an AR15 for protection.

as far as personal protection goes, I carry a pocket knife. as for home security, I got a baseball bat ready and a phone.

same. I keep a knife on me for sure, but Im still going to get a pistol of some sort down the line. My old house we were in last year had soooo many loose/stray dogs and I used to take my son out for walks with the knife on me thinking it would help. One ran up on us and couldve definitely mauled us but luckily he backed down. Thats when I realized this knife aint gon do much to something that is better equipped lol. Best to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Guns are necessary sometimes.

My homie had a mother mountain lion run up on him. He didn’t shoot her but she laid down in the road and hissed at him as he turned around and went the other way. :lol

Could have been bad but she was just sending him a warning.

I'm a gun owner. But I'm not walking around with an entire armory. I'm ok with guns when you can see a standard function for them like a hunting rifle, or a handgun for self defense.

You don't need military grade weapons to do any of that. Anything over that is overkill and unnecessary.

The argument isn't even over whether people should be able to have guns no more.
It's the fact that maybe, just maybe, not everyone with two legs can stroll into a store and buy whatever they want. You need a license to literally just get married. I don't see any logical and sensible argument against having some form of background check and according to polls, nearly 90% of Americans agree. The fact we can't get this done is asinine.

It’s in your personality, if you need a gun to feel powerful or like a man just do yourself and the rest of the country a favor and don’t get any.

Also paranoia. A lot depends on peoples past experiences or areas they are in too. If they don’t feel safe or had a terrible experience they’re gonna get a handgun for protection.

No situation should require an AR.

have you tried pepper spray or an air horn? just out of curiosity and damn sadism, how about a taser?

I have seen some videos of home invasion where a home owner ran after the would be robbers outside the house and indiscriminately firing his/her uzi all over the place. there are also road rage videos where stupid drivers fired their guns on other drivers. there are more chances that gun owners would use their guns irresponsibly than actually using it for self-defense.

and I agree, there is no justification for an AR for civilian use.

on the dogs? naw I dont own any of those items. But I cant stunt, if something is attacking me I want it dead, not just stunned or hazy for some moments. Just my preference.

as a gun owner it’s too easy to walk in and buy a damn gun. It was harder to get my Costco membership than it was to buy an AK. Something should’ve changed decades ago but when u dealing with a certain type of people and money they don’t gaf.

facts. I know Ive posted it before on this forum but when I moved to Texas I literally got denied for a library card, but the same day I was offered to purchase a gun no questions asked. I legit was dumbfounded. Couldnt rent a book but I could cop a strap....

I’m not even against guns.. granted I wouldnt shed a tear if they all disappeared tomorrow

But at least make folks jump through some hoops

We do it many places elsewhere in society

This is basically my position.

of course they’re going to duck accountability at all costs. Hopefully pressure keeps getting applied though and that little small town police department can’t take the heat of constantly being pressed and dealing with all sorts of media coverage and people all over the place on their asses.

Cops doing what cops do best, I guess. Gotta try to uphold that law enforcement does no wrong/cop worship thing we have going on in this country.

**** is sickening. Imagine burying your kid and slowly the truth about the police response (or lack thereof) comes out. I’d be beyond livid. :smh:

I read this article today. It’s an interesting read. But does show how some of these smaller communities put cops on a pedestal. But I hope people in that community hold those officers accountable. From detaining parents trying to rush in to protect their kids to being too scared to go in themselves, they deserve all the heat and hopefully some people are rethinking that back the blue at all costs mentality in communities like that where cops are put on an unnecessary pedestal.

^ and on top of that the only ones who did go in, wasn’t to do them damn jobs

was to save their own kids.. the very thing other officers were preventing other people from doing

Easy to be brave when you see them roughing up people for jaywalking. Glad these cowards were exposed. I don't back the blue and I hope this town wakes up that these guys aren't heroes.
