Mass Shooting Thread: Waiting on the next one.

Really scary and bad when it’s a mass shooting

Even more terrifying when it’s children.
Really wish these suicidal depressed wierdos would just off themselves before hurting innocent people

Can’t really say that the Funeral Home is doing an awesome thing, although it is really ******* awesome, because it is. They’re doing a awesome thing, especially being that the costs associated with death is high, it just sucks that this is the reason behind it. Like what they’re doing is really helping these families out, it’s noble and honorable, but the reason that it is even this way is *****y

If its them or their family that are the ones affected.

I swear I was thinking this same thing right after. If it was GOP legislators and/or their kids getting hit in these attack, things would change REAL quick....unfortunately only as long as the shooter was white |l

Scalise almost died when a person emptied a clip in him and he still wants 0 regulation on guns. Republicans are scums and have 0 credibility.

Took this screenshot from IG. If/when laws get stricter, what difference does it make if those caught with it don’t face any real repercussions?

Genuine question. What would your pathway for Dems to come to a solution to pass something like HR 8 in the Senate after it passed the house by Dems two years ago?
I honestly don't have the answer.

i'm just tired of hearing them say oh well the republicans aren't cooperating.

their job is to create solutions with the rupeublicans enough of using them as a copout this is an epidemic of terror and it needs to be addressed and they need to do whatever it takes to create a solution, both parties need to come together
People really need to stop these both sides takes

There are legit reason to have a issue with the Democratic Party. But they are on the right side of this issue and has been so for a while now.

If your main criticism of them is that why don't they use "insert thing you don't specify" to overcome the gun lobby's grip on the GOP. If you said you are mad they haven't used magic or the Infinity Stones, your argument wouldn't change that much

It is not an excuse to point out reality. Blame the people saying no, not the ones that have been demanding they do something and at least compromise for a generation plus.

If you want to **** on filibuster protecting idiots like Manchin and Sinema, cool, he is an outlier that deserves shade. But you are doing is tacitly letting the GOP off the hook for passing some of the blame for their action to someone else.
oh no don't get me wrong fam i am not letting the gop off the hook at all

what im saying is on the lines of that kobe commercial when kanye says but im doing everything i can and kobe says do more, yes the repubs are some weirdo white incels but this is our situation and we need to literally do more and get a solution yesterday

thats what i want the dems to do, get in their bag and pull out all the tricks do something historic and put an end to this and do whatever it takes to create a solution withthe opposing party

we literally cannot have this keep happening

(Not targeting you) but just so you/anyone else who thinks about sharing this is aware, this is a common "political" (read: racist) talking point to criminalize minorities in California

So I wouldn't be surprised if "Streetpeopleoflosangeles" is just using yesterday's tragic events to push their political agenda

Yeah I'd be all for banning guns if I could snap my fingers and make it happen.

Just isn't plausible.

It's a Pro GQP IG feed. There's a lot of feeds like this in LA. Mostly just spam "Recall Newsom". Now it's "Recall Gascon" since that failed. Pro Rick Caruso too since he's former Republican.

But what does that even mean/look like?

They are already tens of millions of guns out there in folks' hands.

Legit asking. I come in peace.

take people’s guns

they do it all the time elsewhere even with guns

since certain Americans want to focus on the founding principles, I can’t think of a greater founding principle of America than taking away the property of someone else

take people’s guns

How will/can this be done? (Especially unregistered / illegal ones)

I am legit asking HOW.

It sounds good in nature but logistically, how would it be done?

Please don't take this as me saying I think guns should be in the streets and/or I am disagreeing with them being a problem.

Texas and Ohio should be held liable and sued. And any other state that has made it easier to purchase an assault rifle.

18 year olds can’t even live on their own but you’re allowing them to purchase weapons? Can’t even gamble or drink, but guns, go head.

Just isn't plausible.

the lengths certain folks go to for weed and the long term ramifications for possession of small amounts, I wish they had the same attitude towards guns

but they should look at the regulations that come with driving with regard to licensing and insurance

outright ban certain weapons.. and make you at least jump through some hoops for others

Gun buyback but that would only work with sensible people. We do not have sensible people in this country.

Yea that has existed at various times over the last few years but as you said everybody wouldn't be on board.

Hell, I am sure some people in this very thread wouldn't be on board.

People probably feel like, "Well, others still have them so why would I give mine up."

I just feel like the toothpaste is WAY too far out the tube for us to recover at this point.

Idk what that page is or what they post, just sharing something that somebody reposted. (Also not targeting you.)

I’m not saying lock up minorities. I’m asking what is there to do if California already has really strict gun laws, but the streets are as hot as ever. Are the criminals obtaining their guns “legally?” And if caught, the repercussions are minor, why wouldn’t it just continue to happen?

same way they do with drugs or preventing weapons at various venues of society

you catch someone with a gun, you take it

metal detector goes off, you aint getting it back and get a ticket with a fine for possession

if you decide it‘s worth the risk of some absurd sentence to have a gun or go certain places with a gun, that’s on you

if cigarettes can be banned from most indoor places because we all get the risk, I don’t see the problem with treating guns in a similar manner

beyond the NRA conference trump is going be speaking at

"You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it backstroke"

You're just choosing to ignore how our government works right now.

If 50 GOP senators + 2 Dem senators refuse to work for the benefit of the American people, it isn't the fault of the remaining 48 Democrats my dude. Schumer doesn't handpick who's gonna be in the Senate with him. We vote these people in and Americans routinely vote for obstructionists.

Blame the clowns we share a country with.

Ban all guns, zero problem with a gun less world
AT LEAST start with semi automatic assault rifles.

The barrier to entry is too low and enables mass shootings.

Like what what the **** has really changed since columbine?

Schools run some drills now? That’s about it.

Bowling for Columbine is still relevant and it came out 20 years ago…
