Outta curiosity. How big is the gap between the filming of IF and the filming of The Defenders?

Less than a month. IF finished filming on 10/06/16 and Defenders started 10/31/16 and the filming for Defenders finished a couple of days ago.

Defenders is also supposedly filming back to back with JJ S2 so there's some overlap there.

And this is why they failed.
Imagine the fight scenes if they actually got time to do them and the budget for better choreography.

I can't speak for others but IF not being Asian isn't a problem for me at all. Especially since I have a little familiarity with the character and I knew going in that Danny Rand is a White dude. And especially since I'm a huge Wu-Tang Clan fan. If Wu came out today, they would be destroyed by SJW's for cultural appropriation. I didn't even have an issue with Finn Jones playing IF initially. I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones and I thought that it was cool to see one of those actors jumping into Marvel. My problem is with how everything came together. The fight scenes (particularly Finn's fight scenes) are horrendous. I might place a lot of that blame on the fighting coordinators or the fillmmakers. The trip to China looked like an alley in LIC or BK. No ******* costume. Even Daredevil S1 brought out the costume at the very end. Daredevil S2 Elektra had some variation of her colors, Punisher eventually got his skull. Even Luke Cage did a brief, funny homage to his old goofy costume. I'm not saying that they had to do IF's exactly like the comics because the costume is a bit crazy for a TV show but there should have been some variation of it. Daredevil handled the costume situation perfectly. Then the villains are lame. I was never big on The Hand in Daredevil but jesus christ they're boring, especially Bakuto, the Puerto Rican immortal sensei FOH. There's some potential with Davos but I don't want to wait for another season of IF for that. We didn't get many origin scenes as far as IF's training is concerned, we didn't get much from K'un Lun. All this talk about protecting this ancient city and we barely even saw it! Daredevil had cameos from Punisher, Elektra. Jessica Jones had Luke Cage. I think IF needed a Luke Cage cameo. Claire is cool, the lawyer is cool but it needed a legit Defender cameo.

The end of the last IF solo (Iron Fist: The Living Weapon) it ended with a little girl from K'un L'un becoming the new IF. Of course that's being ignored in the comics until the writer starts his sequel which follows Danny training her.

Other than that, I recall a flashback to like the 15th century IF who was an Asian woman.

Neither are really prominent though.

A lot of people have been saying the actor who played the drunken boxer should've been Iron Fist. I wouldn't have been mad at that. I'm also not mad that Iron Fist is white, dude was just not likeable to me--white or not.

Writing was seriously lacking.. after having the hand in DD.. figured we would get significantly deeper, so things would go up a couple notches

Plus go significantly deeper into stuff touched up in DD, also with more tie over than just gao.. seems pretty easy considering how much they were tied into DD

Compared to what we saw in both seasons of DD, just seemed like these dudes were diamondback's crew level threat in this

Anytime he spoke of anything eastern related, there was no authenticity there. It just fell completely flat. I didn't feel the embodiment of a different culture, I just saw a dude just reciting lines.

It has nothing to do with him not being asian.

The authenticity was there with Davos and Bakura and both of them are latino.
