Man of Steel (Superman Movie Thread) - June 14, 2013 - NEW Trailer pg20

Saw it this morning. :smokin
Job well done.
Fight scenes were great and not too over the top.
I like how they show his past in flashbacks because I think had they done it from a child to adult it would be ehh :rolleyes but this way it's :smokin

The very first scene looked like i was watchin a bootleg cuz of the camera movements

Cant wait to see this again

I never watched an action movie and felt like it was "too much"

Fa real in the fight scenes so much was going on I felt like I missed some of it :lol

My only regret is watching it at a midnight showing. I was really tired near the middle/end so my senses were kind of numb. I don't think I was able to fully appreciate the movie.

Going to watch it again at a matinee or something :lol

I was nodding off a lot.

Going to see it again tomorrow, in addition to taking my son again I'm going to take some of the kids in the neighborhood. Good times...

saw it last night.

i don't know if it was the **** theater (non stadium seating :| ), or me being tired but i didn't really enjoy it.

i felt it was soooo drawn out and the script was all over the place.

Just got back from the theater, it wasn't everything I was hoping for but it was still pretty good. From what I knew about the story and the trailers, I was pretty much expecting the best superhero movie ever so there was no way it would match my expectations anyways :lol

I felt the first part on Krypton and everything after he puts on the costume was great. The pacing and direction was a problem during the scenes of Clark bumming around and the flashbacks to his childhood. This was probably where Zack Snyder showed his limitations as a director. They were great in parts, especially the scenes with Jor-El and Jonathan Kent, but it just didn't really come together well. The scene where Clark first puts on the costume and takes flight should have been an extremely cathartic moment and the culmination of a life journey for Clark but it didn't quite work out that way for me.

That aside, the action in the movie was ******g insane. They literally blew up a city and a town..i mean it will take YEARS to repair that damage :lol The fights just kept escalating as it went along, by the time Zodd and Superman had their 1 on 1 it was borderline cartoonish. I actually hope they turn it down a bit in the sequel.

Faora was a boss throughout the movie :hat it was a shame to see her go.

Haven't read through the thread yet but I'm sure other people noticed the similarities to Transformers 3? With the whole building Krypton on Earth plot and Zodd= Sentinel Prime. Thought that was kinda funny :lol

I still liked Dark Knight Rises (Batman III) better.
I enjoyed the back story and hero saving scenes but the fight scenes in the end were too Transformers like. Too many people running, buildings crashing and explosions. It was like Transformers and Independance Day at the end. With that said the majority of the movie was good. I agree it may have been better if it was more of a backstory and had only like 20 min of disposing of the Villain.

JUST GOT BACK IN FROM THE MOVIES AND I DON'T CARE WHAT NO ONE SAYS, THIS MOVIE WAS BOSS. BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE I'VE SEEN SINCE DARK KNIGHT. I KNEW BETTER TO LISTEN TO THE TRASH REVIEWS, CRITICS, AND SCORES. THEY ARE ALWAYS WRONG. IRON MAN 3 BEING GOOD? YEAH RIGHT.

1. DARK KNIGHT
2. MAN OF STEEL
3. AVENGERS

loved the movie, the stakes were def high.
it took 2 hrs, a thousand collapsed buildings, 1000's of lost lives to realize that dudes neck could be snapped?

If Idris Elba looked like Boris Kodjoe that would be a good Lex Luthor

If they do a black Lex, already know it's gonna be Terrance Howard

"I'm gonna destroy you Superman MANE!!"
" just cause your superman mane your not a god mane"

They're not "always wrong", considering The Dark Knight and The Avengers scored over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and you ranked them as the 1st and 3rd best superhero movies... so clearly they were "right" then.

lets be real tho, as a origin story this movie isn't better than batman begins or iron man. Action>any comic book movie, but that was a given

yet everything looked fine when he got the job at the planet...

I'm surprised by the rotten tomatoes rating. I didn't even look at that before watching the movie. I assumed it was getting good reviews. Did anyone catch the Wayne Enterprises satellite in the movie? Supposedly Zod smashes it in one scene. I might have to watch it again for that scene.

Just saw it and I remember seeing some people in here giving it a 2/10... C'mon now,

They should have rushed through the Krypton part more IMO and developed him more as a boy/teen instead. Planets dying, sent off in ship w/codex, don't need 45 mins to explain this.

They showed signs of his character and morality, but Supermans' big thing is he doesn't kill anybody and everyone's life is important, should have made this crystal clear. When he screams after his fight with Zod the average Joe might not understand why (because he didn't want to kill). He would have shown more Superman character  by luring Zod to a desert or Antartica and duking it out there instead of plowing through the city.

I give it a 7/10, great action scenes and cinematography, good actors. It was rushed, but it had to be to explain his story and give some character development. It was too alien-y for my liking.

I would love to see for the third Superman movie, Doomsday. Super over-powered monster crashes into earth, wants to destroy everything. Supes sacrifices it all to save the world. E z

Just got back from the movies. Man this movie is pretty good. As much as you everyone said it was rushed, I felt like it started slow. But it was good that way cuz they went deep into Supermans old planet. It started slow but I understand why, a trilogy maybe?

Batman Begins is extremely underrated. It's my favorite Batman movie under Nolan.

Not in my eyes man. If TDK is the gold standard, which most have it as and so do I, then Begins is very close to it. I love that movie just like I do the whole trilogy.
