Lock please, thanks. Warriors 2011/2012 Thread Up.

I read Miami wants Dalembert too. I'd think he'd choose them over us unless we paid him a lot more...
Warriors GM: ‘We are not shopping Ellis’
I had a wide-ranging conversation with Warriors general manager Larry Riley on Wednesday. Some highlights:

• On reports that the team is in talks to trade Monta Ellis:

“We are not shopping Monta Ellis. It is business as usual here. I think you have to look at what just happened in the Finals — it seemed like Dallas played pretty small guards throughout that series with Miami and did a pretty good job of it. Our problem is not the small backcourt [of Ellis and Stephen Curry]. Our problem is defense.

I hate the Dallas comparison...the difference is they have defenders down low and a great versatile defender in Marion...so they can get away with having Barea/Terry out there defensively

Love the comparison.  The fact that the Mavs have great defenders down low is completely irrelevant to the point that Riley was trying to make.  All he was pointing out was it CAN work.  He wasnt comparing our big men to theirs.  He knows we dont have tough defensive bigs.  Maybe hes trying to bring them in.

Hi Bob Fitzgerald. Stop giving Dland free Warrior tickets please, kthx

We have a long way to go before we reach that point. Of course it's possible but there's a long way before that happens.

I hate Bob Fitzgerald's comparisons too. He says the Mavericks won with two small guards so it's possible. The last time I checked, Jason Kidd could actually defend some 2s a little bit and they have Tyson Chandler in the paint.

Then Fitz goes on to say stuff like Tyson Chandler and Joel Anthony aren't world beaters and they were starting centers on Finals teams. I mean, I guess that's a fair point...if the Warriors had LeBron and Wade or Dirk. He keeps pointing things out that makes it seem like the Warriors have a chance to be a good team with a flawed lineup, but he keeps leaving out the fact that the Warriors don't that star player that makes a flawed lineup tick.

And he really needs to stop with this, "Well what if Nene signs with the Warriors? David Lee and Dorell Wright wanted to come here." Really, just stop it.
