FWIW, the argument in favor of Kirk to the Jets is the following: we aren't on the verge of a SB run. There is some "breathing room" in the sense that just getting the Jets back into the playoffs would be praised. With the Vikings (or Broncos) he would be expected to come right in and lead them to the SB and if he doesn't he's a failure.

The bar for success is much lower with the Jets than it is Minny. nick.
