MWC had a chance to put themselves in great position with another round of expansion... SMU and Houston seem like they'd make a lot of sense. Those two with Boise, TCU, BYU, Fresno would've been really solid.
Exactly.... But according to them they are "The Notre Dame of the West"

Bama has gone 2 yrs without losing a regular season game...

Not according to the scoreboard, I know, but LSU got robbed on that Peterson pick and in the game overall.  I should have said they WOULD have beat Alabama.

2 times. Your punk %@% safety gave Masoli a concussion on the first possession in '08 with that cheap shot.

Masoli is transfering to Ole Miss, Boise opens with Ole Miss in '11. We only beat Oregon two times in a row

the third will be all on Masoli's shoulders.

15,000 tickets remain for Jimbo Fisher debut at Florida State: This is why Bobby Bowden had to go.

The hiring of Jimbo Fisher to replace Bobby Bowden hasn't exactly galvanized Florida State's fan base

There are still 15,000 — 15,000! — tickets remaining for Florida State’s season opener Saturday against Samford.

And BYU still has a better chance at joining the Big 12 than TCU does..

BYU is taking a big risk but it could pay off in the long run. They didn't agree to that home/home with UT for nothing.

Co-sign. Texas and BYU deserve each other though. Both walking around with inflated egos. I wouldnt turn down a Big XII invite if I was TCU but I dont want our school being in a conference with UT ever again. They have ruined the Big XII by themselves. I dont like the University of Texas and wouldnt trust them. Its all about the BCS autobid though so you do what you gotta do. I still think BYU is making a huge mistake. Cool you got a game with Texas, thats followed Utah State, Idaho, New Mexico State, and a bunch of other garbage teams.

Tech sideline spilling the beans before anybody on BSU side would. Here's the jersey, still not sure if were wearing them for the Vtech game.

Boredom breeds new information. Actually found this pretty interesting. Info on the jerseys and designs:

Nike convened distinguished representatives associated with each university to deliver the uniforms' unique stories:

• Michael Irvin, Miami: NFL Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion who led the Hurricanes to a National Championship in 1987.
• Marty Lyons, Alabama: Crimson Tide All-America defensive tackle who played for Paul "Bear" Bryant's 1978 National Champion team and went on to an 11-year career with the New York Jets.
• Jerard Rabb, Boise State: Broncos wide receiver on the historic hook and ladder play that propelled Boise State to victory in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
• Errict Rhett, Florida: Led Florida in rushing yards all four seasons of his college career and played seven seasons in the NFL.
• Charles Csuri, Ohio State: Decorated WWII veteran and the father of digital art and animation, Csuri first made history as part of the 1942 Buckeyes National Championship team.
• Steve Preece, Oregon State: A key member of Oregon State's 1967 team known as the "Giant Killers," Preece went on to a successful career as defensive back with the Los Angeles Rams.
• Ruben Brown, Pittsburgh: A mainstay on Pitt's offensive line for four years, Brown played for the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears, starting in 181 games.
• Matt Lewis, TCU: Equipment Manager for the Horned Frogs who received the game ball after last year's 55-28 victory over Utah, when TCU debuted their '09 Nike Pro Combat uniforms.
• Col. Rock Roszak, Virginia Tech: Alum of Virginia Tech and the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, Roszak received numerous decorations during 27 years of active duty service in the U.S. Air Force.
• Bob Huggins, West Virginia University: Mountaineer alum and current head basketball coach, Huggins has one of the highest winning percentages in Division I basketball.

Key design details from the uniforms include:

• Miami: Tonal Fir palm-frond print emblematic of South Florida incorporated into the jersey numbers, pant and footwear.
• Alabama: Houndstooth check pattern incorporated into the uniform in tribute to legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
• Boise State: Reflective, Game Royal Bronco head on the uniform echoes the famed blue turf of Bronco stadium.
• Florida: Alligator-skin motif used in the jersey numbers, pant, gloves and footwear inspired by menacing Gator mascot.
• Ohio State: Stylized script numbers, a replica U.S. flag on the jersey sleeve and the camouflage-print base layer honor the WWII-bound Buckeyes, National Champions of 1942.
• Oregon State: Retro design revives a look worn by the victorious 1967 "Giant Killers."
• Pittsburgh: Notched Team Gold jersey numbers and stencil stripe on the helmet evoke steel I-beams in reference to Pittsburgh's steel industry.
• TCU: Icy lizard-skin pattern used throughout the uniform inspired by the scaly body armor of TCU's horned frog mascot and a memorable quote from celebrated coach Leo "Dutch" Meyer.
• Virginia Tech: All-black uniform references the cadet gray-and-black regalia worn by Virginia Tech's original football team and honors the school's current Corps of Cadets.
• West Virginia: A headlamp-like line running front-to-back on the helmet and smudged Black pattern on the uniform pay respect to the region's coal mining industry.

Ole Miss senior defensive end Kentrell Lockett will miss Saturday's opener against Jacksonville State because of a heart-related ailment, and his status for the rest of the season is unknown at this point.

Head trainer Tim Mullins said Lockett has a "rhythm problem" with his heart. He began experiencing it during Saturday's scrimmage and was immediately cared for by local doctors. He has since seen specialists in Memphis and is now at a clinic in Cleveland, where further tests will be conducted throughout the week.

There is no timetable for Lockett's return before receiving results of the tests, but he's in stable condition, Ole Miss officials reported.

Lockett was taken off the field last Saturday after telling trainers that his heart was racing. He had a similar situation two years ago, according to Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt.

"We had a pretty big blow today with Kentrell Lockett," Nutt said. "He's in Ohio right now running some tests. It was a hard Tuesday because you've got so many things thrown at you in one day, but I like the way Gerald Rivers and Jason Jones stepped up. It's all hands on deck. You've got to work by committee now."

Ole Miss also learned on Tuesday that the NCAA had denied quarterback Jeremiah Masoli's request to be eligible this season.

Lockett, recently voted as one of the team captains, had started the last two seasons at defensive end. He led the Rebels last season with 13 quarterback pressures and was second on the team with 10 tackles for loss and five sacks.

Rivers will start in place of Lockett. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound sophomore played in five games last season.
