how does strength of schedule matter when its balanced by division? the only reason the lakers' is so high is because they didnt play themselves 4 times :lol

Distance traveled, back to backs, 3 games in 4 nights, etc.

West coast teams have harder schedule inherently. They just have to deal with a lot more travel. That's why GSW winning 73 was so amazing.

Anyway I went thru the schedule and was generous as I could be... Ended up with 30 wins. I would call that an extreme success :lol lottery 2017 is only 9 months away.

All good points, but the graphic was based on opponent W-L record :lol. If they took into account what you said it would make more sense.

They were the worst team in the better conference.

The better question is why are we judging strength of schedule before a game is even played?
No team will be exactly as good OR bad as they are "projected" to be, minus super teams :lol

Tomorrow's NBA TV slate is all Lakers playoff games (particularly the 2010 run).

They completely ignored the 2009 playoff run. :lol I thought that team was better than the 2010 team.

Mosgov already hurt....

Mozgov Injures Groin, Will Be Re-Evaluated

New Lakers center Timofey Mozgov injured his groin while playing for the Russian national team in an international friendly against Ukraine on Friday.

After undergoing an MRI on Saturday, Mozgov will miss Russia's next two games at its international tournament in Tbilisi, Georgia, and be re-evaluated sometime mid-next week, per Lakers spokesman John Black.

The Leningrad native has a decorated career representing his home country, including winning a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics where he averaged 10.0 points. He played professionally in Russia for six years prior to the NBA and also helped his national team to bronze at the 2011 FIBA European Championship.

Mozgov signed with the Lakers on July 8 after spending his first six seasons in New York, Denver and Cleveland. He averaged 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 56.5 percent last year during the Cavaliers' championship campaign.

Interesting bit of info from Eric Pincus from a few days ago.

Lakers can cut Nick Young this year. But choose to pay the full year salary for 2016-17. And stretch the 2017-18 salary over 3 years.

So if they cut him before the end of the month, that's the likely scenario.

All of the yes.

i never hated NY as much as y'all, but at his point with how young the team is....he doesnt fit the culture.

P, or anyone else, contractually does Nick HAVE to be among the 12 players suited up if he's healthy?

On our end do we have the ability to just have him be the 15th man and stay away from the team for the most part?

Yeah, they could tell Swaggy to stay home. :lol

But all this talk about culture since Puke was hired makes me believe the Lakers will waive then stretch him by the end of the month. But maybe Swaggy is cheery enough for more goodwill than any of us imagined.
