The mileage is greater now doubt, but the LBJ is built like a tank. There is not a single player in the NBA that has his mix of athleticism, physicality and skills. Of course a serious injury can happen to the best of athletes (Adrian Peterson for example), but I dont see the same wear and tear happening to LBJ as has happened to Kobe. Hell, even Wade is beginning to break down physically. Seems like there is something wrong with him every week. If anyone is built for the long haul its JamesThis probably isn't the thread to have an unbiased discussion on this topic from either side but while lebron is in his prime right now, my question is how long will it last for. He's pretty much the same age as Kobe going into the 07-08 season. By 2010-2011 the talk about Kobe slowing down had started surfacing. Lebrons been the man on his teams since day one and has more mileage on him at 28 then Kobe did and has also been fortunate to avoid any serious injuries as Kobe had up until this season. Point being , its impossible to predict 3 years from now but I wouldn't be suprised to see the wear and tear of playing such a heavy load since age 18 take its toll 3-4 years from now.LBJ has always had a higher ceiling then Kobe and its starting to show up now. LBJ in his prime is way better then Kobe ever was, and he will go down as a better player when its all said and done. Congrats to LBJ tonight, dude deserved the win
That being said, you guys are talking about Kobe like he was just some chump back in the day. The "Shaq carried him" argument is tired and has been recycled way to much. They complemented each other and the Lakers would not have won the titles without Kobe. He averaged 21+ ppg in all three of those playoff runs, including 29.4 in 2001. Thats getting carried to you guys? Some of yall man..
yeah, if the heat come up short next year i cant see lebron being the reason. in '11 while kobe had knee problems he still was giving us his everything, apart from the crazy shooting streak by the mavs part of the reason we lost was because our role players just didnt have it in them to give it their 100% (im looking at you lamar). lebron and spo as the leaders of the team have to make sure that the other guys dont lose focus next yearThe mileage is greater now doubt, but the LBJ is built like a tank. LBJ will go down as a top 3 player, maybe even the GOAT. But the Kobe slander to me is unwarranted. Kobe is IMO arguably the greatest player on arguably the best franchise in NBA history. He was the face of the league for almost a decade. Just because you like LBJ, and there is nothing wrong with that, doesnt mean there is a need to disrespect one of the best players to ever do it
didnt realize I had typed so much. this has turned into the sports equivalent of Playstation vs Xbox or iOs vs Android

While there is nothing wrong with disliking a player, when he does something that many didn't think he could do, you've got to give it up to that player.
That said, LeBron is a fantastic player, has matured into a fantastic, unselfish, TEAM FIRST player, a leader, someone to be admired and then emulated both on and then off the court. His statements after the chip to Magic about beating the odds as a young Black man, then arriving on the big stage, proves how conscious he is of his platform while being considered the best in the world. He has also elevated his boys, putting them in positions to succeed.
So tell me, outside of Kevin Durant, which one of your so_called franchise players, so called leader of your favorite team, has shown or done the same?
If he continues at this rate, LeBron is going to go down as one of the most loved athletes of all time, while your favorite player is going to go down as the most hated, then reviled, when all is said and done.
Just watch.
Those of us who know sports history, know the story of Muhammad Ali incredibly well, who at the time with his stance against the Viet Nam war, was once the most hated athlete ever, mainly by White America
They, White America, embraced the silent athlete, the guy who stood by then said nothing, Floyd Patterson, who continued to call him Clay, as opposed to Muhammad.
Ali proceeded to whup Patterson's ***, twice.
The vitriol spewed in LeBron's direction due to the The Decision, especially comments by the owner of the Cavs, reminded me of similar comments thrown at Ali, in regard to loyalty to country, but in this case, city. Many people on the sidelines chided the owner for coming off as some sort of slavemaster, overseer.
Well all I can say is this, I cannot wait for next year, when all who were talking their crap, will finally eat crow.
Hopefully, LeBron will continue to be as courageous as Ali in victory.

Being opposed to a very unpopular war due to personal beliefs is much different than being hated for promising Cleveland a championship and ditching them over a nationally televised event. And that's only counting the hate from that, not his four step travels or massive ego.WhoaThose of us who know sports history, know the story of Muhammad Ali incredibly well, who at the time with his stance against the Viet Nam war, was once the most hated athlete ever, mainly by White America

Ignorant, but expected.
I'm sure Lebron did receive some racist hate, but nowhere near the amount Ali did especially during a time of more racial tension. It would be comparable if Ali had made promises like Lebron did.The reaction to LeBron leaving Cleveland, was much like the response to Ali's refusal to be drafted into the armed forces. LeBron even received racist hate mail calling him a traitor, then an ungrateful ******.Being opposed to a very unpopular war due to personal beliefs is much different than being hated for promising Cleveland a championship and ditching them over a nationally televised event. Not just ignorant, but profoundly so.
