I firmly believe the main issue with free agents not coming here is Jim Buss.

Seriously. Free agents come in here to hear the Lakers pitch. They respect Mitch but probably when they are done the player and they're agent talk privately and laugh and don't respect Jim Buss.

Until he steps down no big name free agents are coming here in the near future.

Nah players are smart and they know his reputation as the guy who hired D'Antoni over Phil last time around. Even though reports say Dr. Buss made the decision on his death bed. Perception is everything nowadays.

Also him getting blasted in the media the past few years does not help.

Also with all the bad press he's gotten he's nowhere to be found or rarely does interviews even with the local media in LA.

A few years back he said he was going to try being more open and available to the media.

Don't want him. He's been a headcase and has off court issues also. We have a young baby core that could possible be influenced. Don't want our young guys picking up bad habits.
