The whole interview makes it sound less of a bad thing...he even says he can handle it but other people can't

It's kinda like "I can deal with it but I'd rather not".

I think anyone that's played any type of organized sports has dealt with a kobe type personality, except probably not nearly as good. Can be a real pain in the nuts

LAS VEGAS—Despite a second DUI arrest in the last six months, embattled Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson is generating interest on the trade market, NBA sources told SI.com. Houston, Detroit and the L.A. Lakers are among the teams that have expressed interest in Lawson recently, and there remains a strong possibility the Nuggets could unload Lawson before training camp.

Could be an opportunity to clear out the roster a bit and get deeper in the back court.

I'd go Swaggy / Black / Kelly/ J. Brown (and if need be a protected 2nd 31-43 protected) for Lawson. Asking price for Lawson was 2 - 1sts during the season. No way it's near that anymore. If another team wants him, they'd have to offer more. Assuming it's peanuts for him. They want anything significant for Lawson? EZ Pass

We'd have to get everyone to make some sacrifices.

Lawson would have to come off the bench. And go down to 28 minutes per game. The promise is he comes here, and he's another feather in the cap to chase the big names in 2016 for a title.
Clarkson would need to stay at 25 mpg, as opposed to going up to 30mpg.
Russell would stay at 25mpg
Lou Will would have to go from 25 to 18 mpg

Russell / Clarkson (20min together)
Lawson / Williams (18 minutes together)
Lawson/ Clarkson (5 minutes together)
Lawson / Russell (5 minutes together)

Then go after Seraphin, who while he isn't the rebounder, and his points don't come as easy as they do for Black. He still scores decently enough, he is a solid defender at the 5. Would split the minutes with Upshaw for a season. Only need a good 10-15mpg from him (presuming health)

Russell / Lawson
Clarkson / Lou Will
Kobe / A. Brown
Randle / Bass / Nance
Hibbert / Seraphin / Upshaw / Sacre

And if an injury happens, we can go after a 3 for minimum at FA.

If we were to keep Hibbert at current cost for a long term deal, Kobe on a Tim Duncan-esque deal, Lawson. We'd have enough for a full 30% max, and a little bit to walk around with.

D’Angelo Russell reminds me of ... James Harden in first gear

Russell seems to be the most polarizing prospect in Las Vegas, and the reasons for that are eerily similar to the ones Harden encountered when he entered the league.

The primary concern is that Russell may not have the athleticism and explosiveness to be a big-time scorer or a competent wing defender. The 19-year-old point guard hasn’t done much to dissuade anyone from believing that, as he has played almost exclusively at a turtle’s pace so far, rarely showing the type of burst that seems effortless among elite guards.

It is important to recognize, however, that Russell just isn’t a straight-line attacker off the bounce. He prefers to attack horizontally and zigzaggedly so he can create angles and keep the rim protector guessing and on his heels.

In that sense, Russell is quite a bit like Harden. Both are 6-foot-5 lefties who are “lead guards” more than anything else, but they’re also terrors for pick-and-roll defenders. Russell’s vision lends perfectly for that style, too, because he’s capable of exploiting scrambling defenses from the middle of the floor. Some of his turnovers in Vegas have been fantastic ideas, which is hard for some to reconcile, but risk-taking rookies often develop into the league’s very best players.

What might be the key for Russell, as it has become for Harden, is the ability to draw fouls. Harden may be the best guard we’ve ever seen at that, but his changes of pace also plays a big factor in that equation. Russell already moves like Harden and gets similar shots, but he’ll need to speed himself up as the game slows down for him.

Have to take the talent when it's there. Especially if the cost is pennies.
Agreed.  If you can get him for a bunch of players you are looking to clear off your roster you do it.  Worst comes to worst, you trade him down the road.  Buy low sell high.  The nuggets are dumb trading him now.

If Denver somehow takes swaggy, sacre, j brown, and kelly for lawson, you have to do it.

Agreed but you don't need to include a pick and black for him. Just give him players we don't need and see if another team is desperate enough to give them more.
