I want Towns or Okafor.
Russell would be fine and be fine with if we can grab Gasol or Jordan. But that's a huge risk.
Just don't think it's smart to pass on a franchise center when you have a blank spot at Center.
No.So you wanted the guy at # 4. But not at # 2. You wanted Okafor.
Which is exactly what I wanted....
Just stop Wolf, your bark isn't big enough.
If saying I'd be elated if it was Russell at # 3, but pissed at the reasoning for him at #2. Is not the same as you saying give me Okafor at # 2, but if Russell is there at # 4. You really are missing a lot.
So you only wanted him conditionally.I want Towns or Okafor.

Oh boy. Would you look at this. 1 week, 2 days ago.
With Anthony brown and Jabari brown sitting there waiting for the kickouts. Can't wait for DLO and Randle pick n rolls
GTB, who gave you authority to deny? Hell no, we take it to a vote. (Which I will fix in his favor)
First a Laker, then a Hurricane.
Denied.Ducks are actually relevant although no chips to show.GTB, who gave you authority to deny? Hell no, we take it to a vote. (Which I will fix in his favor)

"You look around this building and you see [Wilt] Chamberlain, and you see [Kareem Abdul-Jabbar] and you see Shaquille O'Neal, those are three pretty good centers," said Kupchak, referring to the team's retired jerseys at the Lakers' team practice facility in El Segundo. "There was also Jerry West, Gail Goodrich and Magic Johnson," he continued. "You can debate the whole topic. Am I going to say that we selected him because we think that's the direction this league and the game is going? I don't think that's the case. You still need quality big men in this league and if any of those players on the wall were available, we would have selected them."
Jah must of really screwed up that second workout!
I think this dude probably played really good defense, and Okafor struggled.
Gabe Olaseni was flown to Los Angeles for one of his 12 pre-NBA Draft workouts with the Lakers.
He didn't find out that morning just how impactful this one-hour session would be.
Olaseni, the Big Ten Conference's Sixth Man of the Year, found out the Lakers brought him in Friday to go one-on-one against who could be the NBA's first or second man picked: Duke 7-footer Jahlil Okafor.
"I just relished the challenge. I definitely brought my 'A' game," said Olaseni, who averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for Iowa last season. "And they were really appreciative of the intensity I showed going against him."
Word has it that Olaseni held his own and then some Friday. The center, who shared time with Adam Woodbury last season at Iowa, has seen his pro stock rise in the last few months — especially after ranking first among all 64 college seniors at the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational in April in blocked shots (3.7 a game) and second in rebounds (10.7).
Why is everyone skeptical about Gasol coming here? His brother won championships here, and I know Lakers and Pau didn't leave on a good note, but him and Kobe are still close, maybe he could influence his brother.

Essential
We are where we are. It's clear a big is most important today going into Free Agency.
Assuming DeAndre or Gasol are not coming. They are my 1, 2.
I think Aldridge is the guy.. I do.
1. He's a power forward, so that would presumably hurt Randle. But we could get Randle 25-30 minutes, and still get Aldridge.
He's not a good center, but he's a passable center. His offense was significantly better, his defense was slightly worse. He played next to insignificant 4s most of the time as a Center. Maybe Randle's better conditioning makes it easier.
Have Aldridge start at Center. Play 20 minutes there. 14 minutes at the 4.
The rest of the center minutes can be done by committee. Tarik Black, Robert Upshaw & Robert Sacre. All bring some form of defense to the Center spot. Also could use the $2.8mil room exception on a cheap center.
Aldridge could be a big draw to fellow Univ of Texas alum KD. And if not KD, he still has star power to his name.
Russell & Aldridge give me a nice Lillard & Aldridge feel. Although Lillard has ice in his veins in the clutch, and we could only hope Russell has 1/10 of that. Russell is a better shooter and distributor.
Now I'd be content going with Tobias and $10mil on somebody else. Or get 3 really good rotational players. But I think, if there's a big with a name, you could do much worse than Aldridge.
Why do you have DeAndre over Gasol? Not questioning just wonder?
Also are these guys (Love, DeAndre,Gasol,Love) going to get the same amoutnt ~$20m?
I think DeAndre would be good for defensive purposes, I think Gasol can do what DeAndre does defensively and is leaps and bounds better offensively.
My List would be Gasol, Aldridge, and then DeAndre. If we don't go for a big you have to think Tobias is a must and then maybe a lesser center?
Any defensive big would pair well with Randle but Lopez is a guy I had on the top of my list as wellPerhaps I am aiming low to avoid disappointment, but Robin Lopez and Al Farouq-Aminu would make me happy as free agent signings. May even some extra money leftover for a backup.
Lopez is a solid two way center. Protects the rim, decent rebounding and a scavenger on offense. Aminu is an athletic, defensive monster that can make the occasional three ball.
