Give antoni healthy roster and hes out like mike brown.

Antoni n kobe would never be able to coexist

Antoni should coach in college where young players will actually listen to him and not have to face nba level teams

Dave Mcmenamin is saying Lakers are leaning toward firing D'Antoni at the end of the season.

Sam Amick says Luol Deng is "on the Lakers radar." Great player but not for more than $8mil/year. He's a # 3 guy. And since we are overpaying Kobe, have to underpay a 3rd wheel. No way Deng signs for that little
at this point, any FA is on our radar haha

deng at 8-9 mil...but the guy wants j smith money

magic with the "yeet" no look

i hate that yeet crap

The Yeet Vine floated on my timeline weeks ago then suddently surfaced again over the weekend for some reason.

Yeah it's really why I would say no to Deng.. If Kobe was $15mil, fine... Give Deng $12mil.. But Kobe's $23mil. Only way it truly makes sense is if Deng is at like $8mil.

Would give us Kobe, # 5 pick, Deng, room to add an Ok Center... Enough room for Love.

Then after all that is sorted out. Final few mil for a bench player. MLE for 6th man. Then have to luck out on Veteran's minimums at a couple positions.

But Deng is at $12mil, and that's just a non-starter for me.

If they have it played, how I think they'll play it...

I think we'll go into 2015 with Kobe, lottery pick (who will have to be ready to start in year 2).. Entire bench signed.. Room for Love. Then they'll have to work the MLE to get a 4th starter. Then 5th starter by committee, and hope that a big trade is out there for us in season.

2016 Love, pick, MLE guy, a couple of the bench players. Room to add a max player.. $5-10mil to go after one last starter.

As long as we do NOT sign Lance Stephenson like CP so adamantly wants us to, I'll feel better about our future.

Please keep this dude away from Hollywood.
Especially for 8/9 million per. :{

The Kobe extension still boggles my mind... Could have given him $20mil even a year, and would be workable.

Dude, Lance is for real.

How could you...

... I don't even...

... for real?

Why?

I've seen too many games where he has just straight tooken over. Hibbert all slow footed, Scola getting bodied, Lance goes to WORK.

Where am I adamant that Lance gets signed?

I mentioned it, and gave reasons why it would be worth it, and that's it. I'm not campaigning for the guy like I have for Love or Durant.

Calipari ain't gonna do **** in the NBA tho. He's a college only coach. He's a master seller, and he pulls in big name high school kids, wisely pulls the 1 year guys, and let's them out talent people on the court.

Not happening in the NBA. He isn't going to actually teach anything at the next level.

The Lakers are unpredictable at this point, essential1 essential1 . Would it honestly surprise you if they overpaid for Luol Deng? It can't. They've been making boneheaded decisions as well as the right ones at a much more even rate now. Very different world we live in.

I don't care :( get him out of Kentucky. Maybe he'll bring LeBron with him 8o :o

All of that.

Again, considering Lance + rookie + Kobe and Nash and the rest of the crew still wouldn't win ****, it would be wiser to flat out not sign any bigger name/contract types.

Especially if it means we suck royally next year.

2015 has become the key. With Dwight, 2014 could have worked out if we could pull in LeBron, and sign Kobe to a cheap deal.

Dwight walked, and Kobe took all our money, so 2014 is now out, as Bron, Bosh, etc won't be coming over. So don't spend on Deng, Lance, Melo types, just hold out the year, drop Nash, and in 2015 try to pull multiple pieces. Plus wait out the final year of Kobe's deal.

God damn I hate that ******* extension. :{ That God damn thing blocks everything we want to do quickly. :{

Well that's something I agree with.

Id rather them NOT sign a bunch of 'pretty good' yet meaningless pieces like Lance or Deng (meaningless in the sense that like you said, we ain't winning **** right now). It'll just be paying 9 million to an unnecessary player just to say you signed someone.

Id rather they scrap up a bunch of 1 year players again and shoot for the moon in 2015 with much more cap flexibility and viable free agent options.

Paying Lance or Deng just hurts us in 2015
More than it helps us in 2014.

Were already hurt enough with Kobe's extension, like you said.

Either sign someone who can make an INSTANT MEANINGFUL impact like Bosh (hypothetically if he opts out and leaves), or pass on the mediocre free agents and wait until 2015 to go after some real cream of the crop players.

Don't let Kobe's interviews sway you towards making meaningless signings like Lance or Deng.

For the first time in my life I have to say, for the benefit of our future...

Ignore Kobe.
