nba legend :hat

aww hell. of course it's gonna take place in a walmart parking lot surrounded by rv's and homeless people.

Legend, though. :lol

Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Luke Walton, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant: one of these things...

Young, improving, cheap, college coach?

Former NBA player, Finals experience, hard working, professional.

Kevin Ollie.

He'll be in demand, soon.

Hmmmmm!!!

Interesting thought, interesting thought....

Keep talkin...

Man that pisses me off!

I would have loved for us to have Phil with us to mold Kevin Ollie into a championship coach like Pat did Spoelstra

I still think it's asking a lot to pry Ollie from UCONN (same with Hoiberg and Iowa St.).

I'm thinking we'd need a year or two. I'm not sure Kobe would accept a guy he beat as his coach.

But with youth movement over next 18 months, maybe. Celts lured Stevens, Lakers can lure ($$$) Ollie, ESPECIALLY if we go all in for Durant.

Yea I still believe that when the Lakers coming knocking at your door and their STRONGLY going after you as a coach, you take it.

I still believe the Lakers as a name holds that weight ...but in that case I think Mike D stays next year. It wouldn't make any sense for either Lakers or Ollie to make the change next year.

The year after next would make more sense
It would be the last year of Kobe's contract
Lakers would have some sense of system direction they're going in by then due to the young draft pick + pieces
The next tear of free agents will be coming in (Durant, Love, etc)
If Kevin Ollie wins or loses in a final four he will want to give it another shot regardless
He could come right to a brand new direction of a top organization he can recruit KD and that'll open up the flood gates of players that would wanna play with KD in LA for the LAKERS

But that's not next year unfortunately, we are still gonna be in transition. I hate to say this but it makes more sense to let Mike D play out next year as well

^Nah

I am warming up to the idea of Randle more and more though.
